| Exactly a year since you left, 03/14/2005. Not a day goes by without thinking of you.
Your daughter Quarta is almost a mirror of yourself. Feisty and always determined. I hope thru her and Quinta, your legacy continues.
Thank you for enlightening me on why I love shepherds. Trophies are just a bonus and no longer my goal.
Love always. |

My dear Lady, was a brave soul!
She successfully weaned her puppies and died of leukemia at age 7 on 03/14/2005.
Unbeknownst to me she was dying she continued and consistently followed the come command. She continued to bite the sleeve a few days prior despite her condition.
Her legacy will live on with her 2 daughters Quarta who will live with me till the very end and Quinta who now resides with Lida of Whirling thunder kennels. Low maintenance dogs with excellent character.
Sincere thanks to Diane Seaman, Steve adn Connie Miller. These people restored my faith, in that idealism still exist and is practiced.
We love you Lady. Thank you for reminding and teaching me that having a dog is a partnership! Unconditional regardless of "medals".
Merry X mas.

Thank You Diane.
Tim Bauhoferland is a Stud indeed! I hope he carries Yassko's prepotency to produce his type. With Cello line in its genotype, and both parents with phenotypical high drives, I am left with just the conformation area to pray about.
Thank you Steve Miller, for your expertise, patience and reassurance.
Thank you Diane, for your unsolicited assistance to procure this breeding for me. This is a breeding for personal use indeed. I hope Tim like his brother Tom would be VA this year!

Troll and others:
I just heard good news for Roger and Lady...she was confirmed pregnant via ultrasound yesterday. Sire is Tim vom Bauhofer Land (Yasko son). Congratulations, Roger!

You have some really nice males in your area. FYI Steve Miller has several nice males and he always seems open for terms.
Just my suggestion would be to try to commute and keep the stress level low for Lady. Keep her schedule as normal as possible (PMS is not a term limited to humans). Good luck and keep us posted. |

| Thanks, Troll. I made a mistake of waiting between her last litter too long. I did not believe that, waiting too long between litters, can affect the integrity of the uterus. Apparently this is not a myth and dogs do not the same system as a human estrus cycle. Prize show females, campaigned till age 4 before being bred, are given contraception, to avoid this problem. I am not giving up yet, I will do the Progesterone test first then use a local dog. Just need someone, willing to accept a deal with me. I just need a female out of her, the stud owner, can get all the rest. If there is less than 4 pups then they can have everything and hopefully allow me one breeding on that female if there is any. Roger. |

| Roger, don't give up trying to settle her unless you found a conclusive medical reason why she did not get pregnant. Have her progesterone monitored and find a nice male close by and keep trying! Lady is a really nice female and with any luck you may still be able to get pups. |

Finally posted a picture of my Lady! Thanks to Herr Setzer for sharing the picture. She is 6 now, my attempt to breed her failed.
I often wondered, what becomes of dogs her age being sold. With strong desire to show and compete, I vowed to move on to the next dog should my "acquisition" fail. Not my Lady, she taught me a lot, her character, her clear mind and constant desire to please me overcame my ego. Prizes and honors from a man, on a given day, means nothing, to what my dog gives me and my daughter 365 days a year. She certainly, has the temperament to do what she needs to do in the field. Be it in her turf or anybody elses. Thanks Herr Grosche and Herr Setzer, for breeding this dog.

Maybe you misunderstood, Schaeferhund and Roger,This is what I said:
I've never seen Gucci in person, but when I was considering breeding my bitch to him, Whirling Thunder had a little video clip of him on the site doing his fantastic courage test.
Whaddya mean, Schaeferhund? I DID emphasize the fantastic courage test. Perhaps I shouldn't have said "floppy", but instead have said "appeared as though they were weak."
The fact that I considered him for my pretty little SchH3 bitch (with nice, short ears) is testimonial that I felt that he WOULD enhance my bloodlines. Given this, the stud fee, transportation back and forth from California, I decided not to go for it.
I had a litter from Vantor Batu and got weak ears in 3 out of 4 puppies that I know of, and weak ears in another litter that I purchased, so I guess that's why I'm a little gun shy.

Thanks Kerry, but a weak eared stud can never make it to the top 50.
Gucci has nicely set firm ears. Fortunately my females ears are okay as well.
Maybe I will post Lady's pic when she finally conceives.

| Have had a litter with Gucci, and there were no week ears. And i have never heard that this have been a problem after him. |

|
| Gucci does not have floppy ears. They not the most strongest, but they not in any way close to floppy. He's also does not have a reputation of producing floppy ears. Gucci has outstanding conformation and wonderful working ability, which together is seldom nowadays and extremly valuable. It's a pity that you dismissed this extraordinry speciman onhand of a 2by3 inch 50 second video... |

|
| Yes, you've got to look at the whole picture, but you can't ignore floppy ears. They tend to divert one's attention from the rest of the picture. Depends on Roger's bitch's ears, too. I've got a floppy eared bitch from an Ursus son and she's a lovely pet... |

|
| I would look at Gucci's nice hip number and his reputed working ability as a higher priority than his ears JMHO!!!! |

Hi Roger,
I've never seen Gucci in person, but when I was considering breeding my bitch to him, Whirling Thunder had a little video clip of him on the site doing his fantastic courage test. I thought that I saw weak ears on Gucci, and decided not to breed to him for that reason. I don't know if you have a bitch with large and/or thin ears, but you may want to see him in person if you haven't already. The last time I looked, the little video was gone. Maybe another member can comment on this, and confirm or deny the ear thing.
I look forward to seeing a photo of Lady soon. Sounds like she's a honey. |

Currently this dog resides in Wisconsin USA. She is very easy to train, very intelligent and loving.
I thank the breeder, Herr Grosche for producing the best dog I ever owned.
I will attempt to breed her to Triumph's Gucci. |
