My brother bred two litters out of Ulk Wikingerblut, when Ulk was in Germany. Ulk Wikingerblut had an outstanding career in North America.
He was Canadian Grand Victor, Am. and Can. Ch., CACIB, R.O. M. and lived from 1956 to 1968. He was owened by Ralph S. and Mary Roberts.
In the book: "The Complete German Shepherd Dog" by Jane G. Benett he is pictured with the fruits of his sensational winnings. One of the great Shepherd showmen of all time with an overall record (in U.S. and Canada) of 128 Best of Breed, 50 Group Firts and 28 Bests in Show. During his show carrer, Ulk travelled over 200,000 air miles, and competed in 38 states, always handeled by his co-owner, Mary Roberts. He stands as the highest Register of Merit sire of all the time with 2,069 R.O.M. points, replacing his sire Troll. Ulk sired 46 champions including a U.S. Grand Victrix and 9 Best in Show winners.
The picture in this book is much more better than this here in the database. Ulk is an outstanding member of the Rolf Osnabrücker-Land-line.
The breeder of Ulk was a retired police officer, Mr. Sander in Bad Essen near Osnabrück. I remember him very well, because he trained all his dogs for a free stand withouzt the help of the leach or the hadler. This he trained already with puppies and young dogs.
