Sorry,
I must clarify
SEL CH (US)Lochwood's Sundace v Suttgart was not a son of Kitty hawk. He was the sire of Stuttgart Sundance Kid when Bred to Kitty hawk.
Lochwood's Sundance v Stuttgart is ( Hawkeye x Lochwood's Zaja)
Zaja, is a daughter of SEL CH Tom v Estahaus.
Kitty Hawk and her son "Bear" Stuttgart's Sundance kid AND Lockwood's Sundance v Stuttgart were OFA elbows AND hips.
both lived over 10 years of age.
I have a picture of Kitty hawk younger, and the topline IS strait.
But the quality is very bad ( very dark pic)
This pic I placed because it is in color, but it was taken when Kitty Hawk did a Veteran's Class or Parade apearance.
Of all the dogs to pick on in the database why Kitty and her son?
of all the animals in the red Books for this time few is any had the
OFA certificates these did.
Besides Sundance Kid Produced GV Cruch OT CH Butch Cassidy, Black jack and few other good things. Just a few.

Even worse, she produced some very influential stud dogs: AM SEL CH Lochwood's Sundance v Stuttgart and AM SEL CH Stuttgart Sundance Kid.
Many decendants from this line suffered many health problems and/or very early deaths that were rampant in this era--of diseases such as bloat, toxic gut, EPI, degenerative myelopathy, etc.

True, these types are not good and don't conform even to the American standard. They can't walk properly; I've seen it.
But neither are Mastiff-headed Greyhound-roach-backed dogs proper GS.
Since both sides have royally screwed the GS (the rare Belgian Mal is taking over your work), I think breeding the 2 together is your only real hope. In fact, the best dogs in form I've seen are combos. Going on my 1 favorite dog as well as few others I knew, it helped in character and health, as well. |

| Sad thing is too, that the Breeders of our German breds have to STOP taking money from these American Shepherd breeders for breeding. Who would want to mix these two lines? Not me! |

Unfortianetelly, some people are still led to belive that what they have and breed is what should be bread, and never pay attention to what's bread in the motherland of the particular breed.
I have some tapes which show the movement of such dogs, and it makes you want to cry because you pitty those poor animals so much. Their anatomy simply doesn't alow them to move in a normal way, and I fel that such people should be encouraged to neuter their breeding stock, and look at SV for guidance, and other well meaning breeders for help, because that is the only way they will move forward, and stop breeding "mutants" as one of users called them and rightfully so. |

A couple of days ago I surfed in to this site ferrum.8m.com, to see if I could find some more pictures for the database.
What I find was a wide range of pictures, from past, present and "future" dogs from this kennel. An example: http://www.geocities.com/gsdsferrum/boa.htm
Take a look at some of these pictures, and tell me once more that this "only" occurs in Britain now? |
