though i am new to the game n still don't own any dog but really .. i request you to convince mr.dexel for coming India so that we can see Arex here in India .....

This dog really impressed me last year in Braunschweig with his overall construction, outstanding movement and correct temperament. I look forward to seeing him in Germany this year and wish him best of luck.

I have always been an admirer of Timo, Can’t forget the 98 show video where he was asked to move 4 places in the off leash gaiting and the dog just swept the other four dogs in front of him. Mr. Dexel was the handler that time and he has to sprint to cope up with the dog’Ss trotting movement.
I have not seen Arex and not even his video but only heard about him. I wish he comes to India and we can use him for the betterment of breed.
Expect to see some more progeny of him through ursus Line or quantum lines.

Hope Arex makes a good place at this years Sieger
If going on just Character and movement, construction he will compete with the best.
We met him outside the stadium last year he is a very impressive male, with an outstanding character.

I would definitely like to see Arex move in India. Such an AWESOME male. I only wish people get out of their Black and Tan addiction
The German Shepherd is bred for character , there are a very few dogs that can today claim to have the right temperment.
TIMO for sure was a dog with that great mix of physical and mental brilliance, but unfortunately a victim of the color bias. I hope atleast Arex is not put through the same bias
I am thankful to Mr.Ajit for giving me a male puppy from Arex, I am eagerly looking forward to him growing up

What I have to say here is strictly my opinion.
The best German Shepherd will be judged on
1.Anatomy
2.Character
3.Working Ability
4.Progeny( Sometimes in Germany this is talked about but not adhered to- dogs go VA without any progeny to show, I am confused so I will not consider this.)
Arex scores over many VA dogs in all these departments. I will tell you why.
Anatomy is required for movement and working. Arex is great in both these departments. You can hardly fault him. His character comes from King Timo and how can you fault the king's character.
Thats leaves out PROGENY. In the midst of all this talk on Progeny which I feel is used very convienently all i have to say is that make Arex VA and once the bitches flock to Arex see what he produces.
So lets smirk and say but sable........?
I agree with you Rajan though a lot of my friends around the world may not agree. But it is true that no dog can meet Arex half way in his movement even The To Be 2008 Sieger and Arex cannot be Sieger because he is sable (would have loved him as Sieger though).If his movement is the best then is it not a testimony of his superior Anatomy? Its an open challenge, I feel any dog can be given a handicap and it will be free leash and Gerd will decide who will run with Arex.
Beauty they say is skin deep, character is everlasting why are German Shepherd dogs different and beauty is placed over character. Timo is a living example.
In 2001 Sieger show if you watch DVD he scored over the Sieger every which way you can.
That dog was awesome. Do you know that when Gerd descended into the hotel lobby with Timo the usually crowded and noisy lobby fell silent- u could hear a pin drop!! Thats the presence Timo had.
U know what- I will pray that we get an oppurtunity to see Arex move in India? Talk to me on this- whoever is interested in seeing this great Dog move in Coimbatore Indian Sieger show????
Timo, Arex that blood will always be there in my kennel. My small way of saluting these two great dogs.

At the 2001 Sieger show in Dusseldorf- Yasko vom Farbenspiel was preferred over Timo of Barrekasten and was handed the coveted GHKLR VA1 title.Timo deserved to be VA1 on the basis of his bitework & outstanding performance in the ring.His colour.. SABLE came in the way!!
Arex vom Herbramer-wald is the son of his father!!(the best mover in any competition around the world).Placed V28 at Braunschweig, is slated to improve upon his placement by leaps&bounds at Aichen provided his colour SABLE does not come in his way !!
Barrack Obama is expected to become the next President of the United States of America.World order is undergoing a drastic change.Why not a SABLE become VA (solely on the basis of his performance) and not pulled down because of his colour? |

I agree to Fred. Arex must be V1 (becouse he didn't present progenie). The best dog shown at BSZS 2007!!. At stay and movement he is better than all VA's dogs.

V-28 at the 2007 Sieger Show, after having been moved up many places a few times by the judge, who could not ignore the fact that Arex got the biggest applause of any dog at the breed show! More than several of the next-most-popular dogs combined. This super son of VA2 Timo has the same far-reaching front stride, happy (and vocal) attitude, powerful gait, and tremendous personality on and off the field as his illustrious sire. I have "met" them face to face many times. Arex should not be neglected by breeders who want better character, front angulation, and outstanding gait. Don't wait!

I have a trophy with me,at home in India, gifted to me by Mr.Dexel Gerd and won by Arex at a show near Frankfurt judged by Mr Heinz Scheerer. I was luck to be there last (2006) April. I also hv another trophy won by VA1(2007)Gina aquamarin at the same show. My two prized possessions.
Yes I agree with others.This dog should be shown in disguise painted red n black and he may be VA too.Just the color my friends but if you understand that lets also understand that sables are as close as can be to the real thing. I may be wrong but i have not seen a sable not doing well at the bite test. So if we understand this maybe we can make the difference- its all after all public opinion. |

Congratulations to all connected with Arex...he is the real deal. The 'real deal' because he is a beautiful dog but also has working titles that are used, not just for show. Although Arex was moved up about 30 places at the seiger show, I'm lead to believe he should have been placed around V5 or V6. Dana, it appears Arex is not underestimated but a victim of colour (sable, black, bi coloured) prejudice, as his father the great Timo was. If only judges would judge to the standard, ie. all dogs in the class judged equally.

I saw this grey dog in 2006 at the German Siegershow and was impressed by his balanced movement.I saw him again in July 2007 at the Noorderclubmatch in Holland were he was Excellent 2 and was impressed again by his balnced moment. At the Siegershow in Braunschweig he was the best moving dog. The top VA's can be glad he was not moving in this group. He would have made the difference.
The public had to correct the placement by applaus. It was very correct that Meyer moved the dog up. Is this an underestimated male? |

was very impressed by this sable. one of the best movers I have seen in a long time. Thanks to his owners for allowing me to have my photo taken with him. He has a great character, good angulation front and rear and a strong masculine head.
