Hobby was such a great dog. I've got a son of him, Fiete von der Josefshöhe, aged 8 and I'm very glad 'bout this.

Yes, its unfortunately true that this great dog died in May of 2005. He was 12 and a half years old, and quite healthy until the end, when he simply slowed down. I understand his fabulous owner, Horst G, from Germany of the vom Jagerfreund Kennel rushed to Sweden to be with Hobby to say a proper goodbye before they let him go to the rainbow bridge.
His care takers, Stephan and Eva from the Oliver Kennel in Sweden, took very good care of Hobby for the 6 years he was with them in retirement. There too, was were Hobby's VA son, Dian lived for about 2 years while at stud in Sweden. Hobby has made an important mark on the genetics of the GSD breed.
If you read his Kor, you'll note that he has a perfect judges critique (kor). If there was an honorary VA to be given to any dog, its definitely to Hobby. That many more people may enjoy the offspring of this fantastic dog for many years to come.

Brittany,
I have a VA Hobby son (finally)
VA7 Dian vom Baronenwald. Argentina, the 2nd largest show in the world with 1200 entries and VA 6 Sweden.
YOu can see him on the Gallery section of this website.
my website is www.kerschberger.com/dian.htm is his page. you can also see some of his very nice progeny from his days in Sweden.

My goal was to 'get around' all the progeny produced thru Ursus, etc etc his offspring.
To go as directly to where these genes come from as far as producing great temperaments.
I also have a Hobby Grandson, Nolte vd Wienerau, which is how I caught on to this incredible temperament

FOUND Hobby G.
He lives in Sweden and is doing very well!!!

I was able to buy an incredible son SG31 of him out of an SG6 female! Wow, how exciting that is. Put some of those great Hobby genes back into my lines for some 2,4 linebreedings on Hobby.

I'm still looking for Hobby G. I heard that he is still alive as he's 'only' 11 now and very well could be.
Does anyone know where the Gletschertopf kennel can be found?
I'm still looking for a Hobby daughter in other words...
Thanks!

An incredible dog. Needs much more credit than he's been given. He produced Ursus, then ursus produces Yasko after all, and yasko produces Larus...
anyone know where he might be ?
let me know...
