VA Dian passed on October 8th 2008.
VA Dian still receives admiring emails from around the world. His greatness will be passed on through his Swedish Best of Breed, Best in Show son, Space Tobini and his Russian Champion daughter Avangard Glace.
He also has progeny in many more countries, outside the usa, including Argentina, the Philipines, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland.
He has joined the historic rankings of the cream of the crop of the German Shepherds, the VA ranks in Argentina and Sweden. (excellent select ranking only extended in the Nationals of each country)
I will miss him very much. |

Most of preston's comments are correct,
except that I have only ONE good 'one'...
V20 (yes, bszs) Lana vom Klebinger Schloss
Dian's sister V Gina Trossbachtal
her daughter Utica vom Lehnhof
her Dian daughter Hermania out of Dian is going to be GREAT!
the amazing Aline vom Venushof,
her daughter Fonni vom Kerschberger out of Zyno Bullinger, unbelievable! Aline's daughter Aine out of my Wienerau male...
Uschi vom Klebinger Schloss
Joga vom Klebinger Schloss
need i go on...
As to males, no one breeder needs many males nor wants them, and certainly not me, I simply don't have enough space or time for that, as I do everything myself and no kennels, my dogs are happy campers.
You all shouldn't judge a book by its cover, you should read it...
And B, child, my website was not there to promote anything, just so people could READ the book...

| Like it or not, Dian is a very attractive dog close to the standard, and he has done okay in Germany at some of the big shows under tough judging. He has produced at least one very attarctive male wh is a worthy dog. I don't like the looks of 95% of the GSDs in w.Ger or the USA because I am picky. I do not like the looks of most of Soao's dogs on her site, but I acknowlege that Dian is a nice looking adult male and earned his ratings in a worthy fashion. Many stud dogs produce monorchids, and coats also. This is not news. A number of top producers typically produce soft ears and bad ear or tail sets occasionally, and even pancreatic deficiency. Cut the dog some slack. All stud dogs must be bred to compensate for their weaknesses and/or problems producing (this is no secret). If we want to brutally honest here let's face the facts that less than 5% of all puppies born of koerklassed I, V rated w.Ger show dog parents are truly attractive and competitive. If you get 1 or 2 puppies out of 5-6 litters that are top confirmation show winners at maturity in w.Ger. then you are doing okay. Getting a top dog is not an accident and it is almost impossible to buy a puppy at eight weeks that will mature into a top dog. That is why they cost so much. It is always best to buy a puppy at 6 months or older when the hips and elbows can be screened and the dog can be evaluated at a preliminary, screening level. Even then, much can become mediocre by the dogs maturity, making the dog non-competitive. One is naive if they think they can buy an eight week old puppy that will turn out to be a top rated confirmation dog. If you don't like Dian then acquire something at least as good. Getting a better looking rated GSD won't be asy or inexpensive, be assured of that. There are some kennels in the USA which have some very nice GSDs. They will occasionally sell the good ones that are 6 months or older and are screened. But you will need to pay a fairly large price and will have to prove yourself to be worthy. But in most cases it will be well worth it because of the scarcity of good stock and the real world difficulties acquiring it whether by one's own bereeding or purchase.
Soao got a good one and that's that. And bred properly he may produce in a worthy fashion. |

| and VA7 i might add in Argentina, the 2nd largest Sieger Show in the world with 1,200 participants each yr. Germanies being about 2,000. SG31 bszs in Germany 1999
As to Biv, he was offered a full refund but had to sent the dog back. He told me after 5 months that the dog had an undescended testicle, when gorgeous Quisto was EIGHT months ...
KERSCHBERGER.COM is Dian's website - please come visit and see his progeny page.
He produced most recently Avangard Glace, a drop dead gorgeous female who is the Champion of Russia.
And Best of Breed, and Best in Show in Sweden, Space Tobini. |

| I have two friends who have seen this dog several years ago. Both reports were very positive. He would be on my short list of males in US to breed with (depending on goals). The present owner irritates me to no end with her style....but lets no forget to seperate personality from fundamentals. The fact he did not go VA in Germany is maningless. His prodgeny are very nice and his pedigree speaks for itself. A bit old to show now but I suspecthe would have done very well a few years ago. Hats off to owner for bringing him to US. |

| I have no personal knowledge of Dian. Even his sire, Hobby, didn't have the conformation/political clout to go VA in Germany. Yet, look what Hobby produce!! Proof is in the pudding. For example, I have a very nice (great drives, pigment, presence) Ursus son who may never VA in the USA. However, in his first year at stud, he is proving to be an outstanding producer. |

You'd have to ask the original owners that question...
All I can say is go see him for yourself. I've seen a lot of GSD's and he is something special, for sure. That personality, temperament and conformation will surely shine through on his progeny...I guess we will see!! |
