I am very interested in learning more about this dog. I saw his mother in the US at a USA show in Washington state in I think it was 1997. As a AKC show breeder of quality dogs (bred the 95 US GV and 96 US GV), when I saw her, well, I just thought she was excellent.
I am very pleased to see that it appears she's produced several nice progeny as a brood bitch.
Anyway, does anyone know if it is it likely this dog will ever come to the US or does anyone know the web address of his owner?
Thanks in advance,
Kathaleen Strong |

Welcome Leri Hudson !
Now here is a very nice representation of Yoker's future producing ability from one of his first litters. Best of luck to Hudson and his owner Francois, may he realize his full potential. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/392116.html |

Good answer Solo - objective and pertinent and especially useful, as long as you've REALLY seen the dog and you can explain your opinon. Why do some get these comments so personal and become so defensive? This is supposed to be a constructive disscution on dogs - pointing out their defects is a way of learning more and helping breeders make better choises.
I don't think what Solo said brings any prejudice to Yoker - he's a great dog, not perfect, as there is no such thing as a perfect dog, but beautiful and breeders will use him as a stud minding his little faults, that's all. |

I have seen this dog, and been around him, I also watched this beautiful dog VERY carefully at the Sieger Show, I watched him do the STAND, I watched him in his class for almost half an hour. I did this because I liked this dog so much, I may want to use him. I have also read ALL the comments on this dog, on this site. Those who enjoy 'selective' vision, well just carry on, don't mind me, I will hopefully be at next years Sieger Show, and continue assessing prospective studs, as I also do on my many visits to Europe, and also following up on this years Young hopefuls, of which many never re-appear.
Chad, Why don't you tell us who you are?
Solo is David Payne - now that is not difficult is it? |

To take it one step further.......
How many people actually have seen the dogs they comment on in person?
A picture is not always better than a thousand words!
Pictures are a wonderful introduction for those of us not fortunate enough to see a dog in person, but before commenting on a dog you should pay close attention to the observations and critiques of those who have actually been around the dog.
You can not ascertain the dog’s movement, structure in natural environment, nor its temperament and character from a photo.
I find it exciting to see a possible up and coming star and imagine the positive impact he or she may have on the breed. That’s what makes our hobby so much fun. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and used correctly this forum is a wonderful place to have many open and honest exchanges.
Put aside the negativity unless you can state any problems or things to be aware of from your personal observations and experiences.

| Why would solo question the showing in the future Sieger Show "Yoker", and why mention "will he pass the protection" ? Why not ask this question of all the Young Males this year?? When someone states they have made a mating or puppies are due, there is always someone who wishes to throw some question mark over the parents possible weakness. When someone mentions any possible fault in dog the owners feel they are being subjected to some kind of witch hunt, just like the comments made at one of the UK shows when a certain dog was down placed because the judge was critical about the dog, this SV judge was then taken to task by the Owner, even to the UK kennel Club. So think twice in making comments which could put a question mark over a dog there is no need for this type of gossip. |

Is it any perfect dog? If Yoker stands a little "east-west", then so what. Isn`t this a problem that a good breeder willl have to look out for, when decideing wich male he will mate his bitch with?
And isn`t it so, that there is something you can "point your finger at" on every dog.
So i think Yoker is a very betifull dog, that deserves to be given a fair chance. But i also think that it is a good thing, that there is a discussion going on, when there are well known dogs. |

| Why so negative and pesimistic?? ;) |

|
| A superb dog out of fabulous parents.Should be easily within the top Vs next year. |
|
|
|
|
| We should wait and see if this superbly constructed male is entered in next years Sieger Show at Karlsruhe, and see if he participates in the Schutzdientest, and if he passes. |

If he can produce his type then I believe that he will be a TOP future VA Dog. I saw him in Ulm....He moves like a dream and immediatly makes a "WOW" impression. Not to take anything away from the rest of the field....but IMO leaps & bounds above the rest. Awsome Dog! He has some prodgeny just hitting the ground. I will purchase a female out of him.(Wish Me Luck)
The site listed below shows a more recent photo of him. You can see how well he has matured since the last photo posted here. fhttp://www.karats.dk/engelsk/Engelsk.htm |

| Sorry, but one time it is not right. This beautiful dog failed two times in his bite-work. That can sometimes be the result, if we put to much pressure on the dogs, in a very young age. |
|
|
|
|
| He failed once in Denmark |
|
|
|
|
| Is it true that the dog failed two times the bitework for breedsurvey in Denmark before he made breedsurvey in Germany ? |

"Yoker is a pretty young male for sure, with beautiful expression, but he stands east-west in the front. This is a common problem from Ursus."
This is a minor imperfection if he comes at you cleanly and has tight feet. Even Ursus stood east-west as a young dog. You can see this in many of his pictures. Some (obviously, not all) dogs stand a little east-west in order to maintain better static equilibrium.
Do this test with YOURSELF. Try to stand with your feet fairly close and pointed straight ahead of you. If someone pushes against your shoulder, you may tend to lose your balance. Try the same test with your feet a little further apart and a tad east-west. See what I mean?
