I notice his hip rating is listed now on the database as a3. I have a bitch from him, her PINK PAPERS clearly state Jaguar is a2.

Yes , Jaguar produced a lot of great dogs. For example SG 3 Intra von Langenbungert and James vom Turkenkopf. My female is also a daughter of Jaguar. You can see her picture on www.vonrenderau.be

Baffi is a daughter of Jaguar also, she's our dog. She was born four years ago, we live in Latvia. Her mom had nine puppies from Jaguar. Baffi has very good character; and she has done quite OK in some shows - even though she hasn't been trained very seriously, as we are no professional dog breeders. As much as I have seen from Jaguar, he seems excellent dog.

My Jaguar daughter Uzi (call name Tigra) is being bred to Immos vd Freiheit Westerholt (Hill Farbenspiel son) this week. I'm excited to see what she produces; we had some bad luck with her previous breedings, absolutely nothing wrong with Kerry, just bad timing with Uzi.

If you like Jaguar, look at I think his name is Zeckel Mausepitz, his mother is Ulana, full sister to my Uzi.

Beth, I bet the Jaguar/Espe litter will be great, Espe's mother Teiga is also Uzi's mother, awesome female.

BTW, Mike, thanks for the nice words. You should see her now, her bitework has matured. Good to "see" you!

I really like the dog and I really am impressed with his progeny but I am totally against comments like the last post from Dog 1 (who may have been instrumental in his importing) glorifying politics as an excuse or credidation for a dog's value.
This dog stands on his merit and needs no excuses. He is an awesome dog in his own right and now he proves himself as a producer. END OF SUBJECT.(we should all try to end the politics and get back to quality being the number one issue with our breed).

One judges opinion of the dog is the reason most of the time. Check out Fritz. Spectacular animal in many respects. Lots of breeders like him, lots of judges like him. He has a lot to offer.

One judge in particular didn't. The reasons were all legit, by the book, no one disputed them. So in this judges eye, it was not his type of dog. This opinion surfaced in the shows prior to the sieger show. So Fritz along with many others in the same situation, went to the show, showed their stuff, became ill and left the show letting the breeders in Germany decide the popularity of their dog based on what they saw.

So for a quick evaluation of a dog, consider three things.

Sieger show placing. It's a good general indication of the dogs quality give or take. Show placings are important to a lot of people, after all it's probably the most accessable piece of information available to the public.

Second, look at the results from the shows overall. Most dogs have been shown enough times to get an overall feel for it's quality. See what judges it was shown under also. If it's the same judge over and over it may be a good dog in only one judges opinion. If it is 6 times SG1 and 2 SG2, 3 times V1` and one V3 under 10 judges, Chances are it is a solid dog. This information is available on the SV CD's of the sieger show.

Third examine the opinion of the breeders across Germany. This may be a little more difficult. The SID has this information. Find out which dogs are going to which males. If a male has 3 VA females, the best dogs owned by the best kennels going to him and a large number of breedings. Chances are the breeders like the dog.

It's not a perfect system, but it's a whole lot better than looking at a picture and listening to a sales pitch.

Hello Dog1, you mean to say that the judge was the reason for the owner not to let his dog complete the show?

I throw in a general comment under Jaguar to respond to Dyanesh's question. It's a question that has appeared on the message board a few times on various dogs so there must be some interest.

The answer applies universally to dogs in the sieger show that receive the EZ rating.

This rating is given when a dog is pulled from the competition after the bitework but before the gaiting. A dog can be pulled without penality if there is a health issue and the dog is taken to the show vet for an evaluation and excuse.

There are dogs that have been shown throughout the season that have done well and the owner wants the dog shown at the sieger show. The owner knows the dog is not the type or the bloodline or whatever the sieger show judge likes through his placings before the sieger show. Nevertheless the owner want the public to see his dogs performance under pressure on the field for the sieger show protection phase. The dog is presented for the work, does the work, crowd sees the dog and the dog gets sick. Dog goes to the show vet and is not required to complete the show.

Many of the dogs are not really sick. The owners know they will not get the place they feel their dogs deserve so they take the dog to the vet.

A great looking male. He has shown that he can produce. But I am curious why he was certified EZ in the Seiger Shows.

Brittany, you don't even have a breeding female yet, how can you be thinking of using anything for a stud service?

Jag is undoubtedly a VERY fine dog, I've watched his entire career with great interest. But not every male is right for every female. I'm looking forward to seeing Jag's progeny groups here in the US because I think he will be getting breedings to more correct phenotypes here.

I have used Jaguar as stud for my females and really like what he is producing. The litters I have seen from Jag are very uniform, big boned, good conformation,
rich color, and excellent temperments.
I would definitely recommend Jag to anyone who might be considering using him. Beth Coats (Jag's Owner) is great to work with and is very helpful to make all of the arrangements both before and after the breeding.

Im planning on getting a bitch puppy from a friend of mine, lets just hope that the bitch is preggers, which im sure she is. I would like to ask some questions. Why wasn't Jag shown or excuse from 2001 and 2001 sieger show? I am thinking of using Jag for stud service but would like to learn more about him.

Hey! I'm a good friend of Kelly's & am also the handler of "Tigra". The bitch out of Jaguar that belongs to Kelly Czaja that you were inquiring about is Uzi von der Mausespitz, @ home she's called "Tigra". I believe you met her, myself & Kelly w/ her family @ the Sieger show in North Carolina. It was good to see Wolfgang again and Jaguar. The two of them together is an awesome site. In any case, there's your information that you were looking for. And do know there is a photo of Uzi on this web site.
p.s. her first breeding is taking place this week! XOXOXO~

Kelly,
Is your Jaguar bitch, Angelina vom Faehnrich? I tried to find a picture of her on this site but it showed no results. I am the owner of Jaguar and am collecting progeny photos. Would you be so kind as to send me a pic of her to gsdpups@msn.com .
Thank you so much and congrats on your V6!!

VA Jaguar is a Well Put Together German Shepherd. I have seen his Protection work up Close at Various shows here in the USA. It is among the Best!!! He is so Well Mannered at shows and at Home when Breeding!! In my opinion he is by far the Best Example of a 100% West German Show Dog of his Breed. No Doubt anyone who Breeds there Dam to him will have the Best looking Pups!
Good Luck JAGUAR!!

I want to post to anyone who is interested in a Jaguar pup- I have a Jaguar daughter who is just spectacular. She just made V6 at the NASS. She is strongly pigmented, sound, typey bitch with a gorgeous head, a1 hips, and most important, an outstanding temperament. I have seen many Jagaur progeny, and the majority of them also carry these traits. Best of luck to Jaguar in the states.
