I was lucky to meet Olex the other year, when I took some head shots and candid shots of him for someone.
Huge character and incredible presence. Very well taken care of,hanging around and schmoozing with people, including a young child (he was very gentle).
I am sorry to hear of his passing. I know that it has been difficult.

The best part of a Legend is that, is you never say good-bye they always live on. Olex you are truly the embodiment of the german shepherd. I am only thankful that I was able to hold the leash for the last part of your life. I have truly had the best times of my life with you. What can I say I fell in love with you. My best friend you will be laid to rest tomorrow . But the thing that I will always have, is you in my heart. If I was asked to pick a favorite part of you, I couldn't choose one. You are all my favorite. You brightened my life, and all my closest friends and right at the end you brought joy to my grandmother. But I feel that you will never truly be gone, you left behind many progeny and will continue to live on through them. Olex, you brought out the best in me, more than anything or anyone, and stood by side through my illnesses and brought me comfort. For Love, for therapy, for triumph on the field, for a producer, and the last of the true Man's best friend, Your breath may not continue, but the best part of a legend is that they never end. You almost outlived me my friend, but I will see you again, in a place where we know no pain and no disease can touch us. Until me meet again. I will treasure every moment and do everything in my living power to see your legend continue. I bred my female to Olex on March 23rd, 2007 (just one breeding). She was confirmed pregnant today (May 2nd) via ultrasound to have at least 3-4 puppies, maybe more. Will update when pups are born with exact number(due the week of May 21st).

13 October 2006
Olex was collected today at Scottsville Animal Hospital in KY and semen analysis performed. Results are as follow:
Collected: 9cc concentrated semen
Motility: Good to Excellent
Sperm Count: too numerous to count per undiluted microscope field
Morphology: 90% normal, 8% primary abnormalities, 2% secondary abnomalities
Testicles: Normal
Breeding Behavior: Good
Conclusion: Olex has excellent fertility and can readily breed naturally as well as be collected.
