Bear vom Broichwald

Bear vom Broichwald "Max"

We went to Germany to pick up "Max" Bear vom Broichwald in May 2006. He a great, strong and healthy dog.

Max did great on the flight, even that he had to go into Cargo. As soon as we got to Germany we bought his flight box and the breeder in Germany was kind enough to offer the box to him with some food, water and toys in it a few days before our flight back to Florida. She did not lock the door but Max took the box as his "home" - when we had to border the plane Max went gladly in the box and seemed to have no problems during the 10 hour fight. He was only 10 weeks old and dealed with the situation like a "pro".
Ghia our American German Shepherd and Bear vom Broichwald "Max" our German German Shepherd are best friends and both dogs are bilingual now - like our kids they speak English and German (: Best Friends

Max and Ghia love this ball, they could play all day long
Growing up with German Shepherds, I know how great this breed is and Max combines all of those for German Shepherds great personality caracteristics but he is still surprising us every single day.
We have a very old Golden Retriever, she is still healthy with her 17 years but she has problems getting up sometimes. We had all 3 dogs in our living room with the porch door wide open. The dog food is always outside on the porch. After a little while Max got up went outside, took a mouth full food, brought it inside and geve it to Brittaney. Brittaney started eating and as soon as she was done, Max got up again, picked up more food and brought it to her again. We have never showed him that, we did not train him for that, he came up with that all by himself. It was just amazing.

Taz is our rescue puppy. She came to us in Oct. 2008 after she was found or picked up by the police. She was only about 7 weeks old and we had several Vet visits to bring her up to date. Finally she gained weight and her fur became German Shepherd like. To bad we have no papers for her but main thing is she is a great dog. Ghia and Max (Bear) love her like their own and she just passed her K9 Good Citizen Test. We are very proud

Taz came to join us just a couple of weeks after our Golden Retriever passed away with almost 20 years old. Max was the one who really cared about her (Brittaney), washed her and even brought her food. We had a feeder outside and when Brittaney was not able to get up - what happend on some days - Max would go out and take a mouth full of food, brought it over to Brittaney and spit it out in front of her. I have never seen a dog acting like this. Needless to say Max was very depressed when Brittaney passed away in her sleep. He would refuse to eat and was sleeping on Brittaney's grave in our yard.

After a couple of weeks I got a call from a police department. My friend there knew that Brittaney had passed and she asked me if we would have room for a little GSD puppy. Of course we had and as soon as the little one entered the house with not even 8 weeks old, just skin and bones, over and over with flees and worms, Max took over caring about her.

After about $ 500.00 Vet Bills Taz is now a good looking GSD and she is just the "rising star" of our club. Everybody is happy including Max.
