Lestus vom Hühnegrab is a beautiful 3 year old male GSD who was purchased through Clearcreek Bauernhof Kennel in Franklin OH for breeding purposes on Oct. 12th 2007.
He is a son of VA3 Orbit vom Huhngrab.
Shortly after he was purchased, it was discovered that he is totally sterile. (possibly vasectomized?) He has 2 neg burcelois tests. This dog has NO sperm, confirmed by a vet. He is fully intact and very aggressive about breeding!
Lestus was also sold with the "a" stamp of Noch Zugelassen on his pedigree. As the weather became colder here in Missouri, he started to show signs of pain and stiffness. He was re-xrayed and those xrays were submitted to OFA. He has come back as moderately displastic, which corresponds with his pain and stiffness.
The people who sold this animal are refusing to provide a refund or take this animal back, saying that he was in good health when he was sold, 3 months ago. I have offered to deliver the dog back at my own expense!
We are not in a position to provide the special home that this dog will need. I am offering him for free to anyone who is willing to provide this dog a comfortable life as a house dog and is willing an able to manage his HD as he gets older until the time comes he can not be kept out of pain. This dog is already showing signs of pain on cold days, he needs to be an inside dog. I would suggest castration, to lower his drives, as this dog has plenty of drive and wants to work and breed.
Unless we can find a good home for him, I will have no choice but to put him to sleep, which would be a true shame, as he has an incredible temperament and is a beautiful, large black and red. In our local area, too many are looking for junk yard dogs, to stick on a chain, etc... I will not let him go to anyone who has those intentions.
I am just sick over the lack of ethics that has been displayed with this situation, we have been breeding and placing quality German Shepherds for over 25 years and I couldn't consider shuffling a dog off on someone with the problems this animal has. To everyone out there, please consider this situation, before you purchase a dog with an "a" 3 stamp. This is either a case of pure fraud, or the SV has a serious problem with allowing this certification on a dog that can become crippled at just 3 years of age!
We learned our lesson and will never again purchase another dog, except from our close friends in Germany and NEVER another "a" Noch Zugelassen!
