www.salztalblick.de They have a great Solid Black Male Stud dog. I am sure he produces some blacks. Don't know anyone in Germany that breeds just for black...

If the dog is solid black he will produce solid black if bred to a solid black bitch or a bitch that carries the black gene recessively. Either a dog carries that gene or they don't, no such thing as one that carries it strongly.

I would recommend kennel "Kirchberghof". Especially "Gharib Aesculap" produces outstanding solid black working dogs. Have a look at his progeny!Right now they have a repeat litter of the T-litter (Gharib x Tilli Gleisdreieck)out of this litter all dogs are healthy, very high in drives with a perfect switch(prey-aggression). Outstanding outward appearance! You will find more information by www.kirchberghof.de

Call/contact Willi Mueller (www.salztalblick.de). See his stud male Paska Salztalblick, also in this month's SV magazine, beautiful dog, excellent progeny, super drives! I will do a repeat breeding this year!

Jenlee, The link below is the most comprehesive database on Black GSD's. If you are serious about learning about Black GSD studs this site is the source. If you would like to know where I obtained my black GSDs, e-mail me privately. Kyle http://www.datapage.de/de/start.html?id=5952

There is only one kennel in Germany who is actually specializing in black GSDs and that is Paul's schwarze Seeperlen. Here is a link to his homepage: www.schwarzeseeperlen.de

Yes, I know Alex'  bitework is "dirty" and needs some work, but his owner/handler had health problems. He was shown last year at the Sieger Show and is supposed to be entered again this year. I am flying over in September and will take a look at him.

Since Paska's untimely death, there are only a couple of truly outstanding black males in Germany and two happen to be Lasco-sons:

V-Alex von den schwarzen Seeperlen and V-Uras von der schwarzen Nister (www.leistungszwinger.de , then click on "Deckrueden").

I had one of the last Paska-litters last year and kept two puppies out of him, a male and a female. While we are defini tely keeping our black boy Onyx (he is supposed to go to a close friend of mine in Germany on co-ownership), we are getting ready to sell his black sister Olympia vom Silbersee (http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/519893.html). Unfortunately, I do not have any current photos of her, but will take some as soon as possible. She will also be preliminary hip and elbow xrayed. I have plans to breed her black mother Chuckie to V-Alex vd schwarzen Seeperlen early next year.

Paul also has black puppies out of Alex right now.

Chris

I have a newly imported bitch from Kirchberghof kennel..Hanuta. She was bred to one of his males, Noris, before being shipped. She is confirmed pregant with 10+. She is due to whelp any time now. Solid blacks certainly expected.

IMO, no need to have a pup shipped from Germany, when we have the same blood here. Solid blacks are not hard to find.

If breeders import dog's from Germany why can't the average Joe customer do the same thing?  The quality and breath of selection is much better in Germany.

I have found the "pool" of strong females with top pedigree and titled and Koered to be larger in the "For Sale" category in Europe,  than here in the States.  Puppies for sale is a whole different and much larger ball game....especially this time of year. New England itself seems to be fertile ground the moment with quite a few excellent breedings and in the form of exceptionally large litters.

I should also add: adult dog, titled, Koer'd, hip ratings, fully developed conformation, proven breeding record....no surprise what I was importing...actually...not true...it was...she is far nicer than I could have imagined. A puppy?? A puppy is a huge risk, gamble.  It will arrive from overseas very cute, and probably the color you like...the rest...you have to wait  a full year at least to really see what is you purchased. And if you are not satisfied...oh well....tough luck.  At least when you purchase a puppy here in the states, you have a guarantee and the breeder's local reputation to fall back on.

Again, there are many very good breedings hitting the ground this time of year, and all over the country.

Unless someone is hell bent on paying the crazy exchange rate and huge shipping fees, and praying like heck when they finally open that crate door, then so be it. :)

Chris, Do you know what Pasca died from? He wasn't that old and I worry about hemangiosarcoma or bloat with dogs about that age both of which are very inheritable and esp the hemangio.

Yes I know first hand what Paska died of. He did not bloat and he did not have hemangiosarcoma or any other kind of cancer. Poor Paska died of complications due to his injuries which he had received a year or so earlier. His owner/breeder Willi Mueller told me in detail what had happened when we talked on the phone. After his injuries, he was only able to breed about 6 females, one of them being mine before taking a turn to the worse. That is the reason I feel particularly bad about his death.
