Dog Food (4 replies)
|
|
| Hi GSD friends,
How you define a good dog food ? |
|
|
|
|
| Complete nutrition, highly digestable, and highly palatable, fresh CONSISTENT ingredients !!!
So I guess most importantly for me would be the the Consistencey of the ingredients and the reliability of the supplier of ingredients. |

| Ditto EchoMeadows. I like a dog food that the dog likes well enough that I can use a bit of kibble as a training aid or treat.

| Hi EchoMeadows and Bob-0,
But some of the people define excellence dog food is that the food produce good muscle for the dogs. What do you think of such statement ? How you define a premium and super premium dog food ?

| Again I would say the same thing...
Complete Nutrition = feeds the body, provides the blood with nutrients to distribute to muscle, bone tissue and density.
Highly Digestable = easily broken down for further and faster absorbtion. All the nutrition in the world won't do any good if it's in a form that is not easily broken down and "Absorbed".
Highly Palatable = None of this does any good if the dog won't eat it. It has to be attractive to the dog.
Consistent Ingredients = Know that your company purchases from a reliable feed source and that the consistencey of the products they buy will be good. If they're buying all over the place you don't know what that animal was being fed or doctored with or anything before it was brought to slaughter.
Does this now make sense ?
I hope I've been able to explain it a little better. :-) |
