Well I thought I would update you all on the rescue effort........

I ended up with Momma GSD and 4 Mal cross pups. Momma unfortunately has some major destructive chewing issues that I did not have the time to address. I sent her to my friend who does Dutch Shepherd rescue and is a full time professional trainer.

The pups actually are surprisingly nice. One went to a family of 5 kids and a female malinios. The only male in the litter went to a member in my club. I have the two remaining female puppies.

I was planning on not making these pups available until they were 4 months old so i could have a real good idea of what they are, what they can do, and get them matched with the correct homes. But as luck would have it, I broke my ankle the day after their first formal bitework session. I have my Spazzo malinios, these two pups, and a broken ankle. Not a good combo. So I am making at least one, possibly both of these pups available now.

These pups are GSD X Malinios cross. Mother is an all black GSD with a czech and west german working pedigree. I have access to the pedigree but do not know it off hand. I know she goes back to Mink. The father is a malinios of unknown origin. My guess would be either French or Dutch lines.

DOB is 08/28/2009. These pups are very similar but also very different as well. One is a little more Mal type, the other more GSD; larger more coat, and bone. They have had their first set of shots and have been wormed once. I have taken these dogs to every park, on every jungle gym, and every strip mall within a 10 mile radius of my house. They are social, stable, and confident. Nothing has rattled these guys.

I have them retrieving balls, kongs, shaker bottles, and car keys. I have only had one formal bitework session, but both of these pups I absolutley consider sport prospects. For an accidental backyard litter, i have been pleasantly surprised.

These are not the best pictures in the world but to give you an idea........

They are going to be high energy, high drive dogs. I really wanted to hang onto both of them longer, and still want to keep one, but both are available to the right homes. Again both pups, I consider solid sport prospects that will do very well in an active pet home as well. Mom is a high energy dog that never learned how to deal with her drive and energy. I had her at my home for a week. She is a sweet dog that was raised with children. She will need a great deal of effort to get over some behavioral issues but would be worth the effort. Mom will be spayed prior to placement.

If you are looking to be a a little original on the trial field, looking to "add a little something" to your breeding program, or just looking for a nice active pet, these pups are really worth your consideration. I will be asking for a reasonable adoption fee to cover my costs. They are located in California. Working/sport homes will be given priority.

I hope your ankle heals quickly.  Nice looking pups, with all you've done they have a great start.  Good luck finding them the right homes.

Kudos  to you for taking the time to give them proper education. It will give them them the opportunity not to become shelter dogs. Sorry about your ankle, that is the worst!

Sorry to hear about your ankle. Hope it feels better soon. Hope they get great homes soon!
Drop me an email if you'd like me to send something for a bag of food. I don't have a lot, but it's worth helping out after you kept those guys from going to a shelter :-)

Hope you find a good home for the pups. It sounds like they would make good working dogs. Hopefully who ever gets these pups will spay them so that more things like this do not happen. Koodos to you for taking them and finding them good homes. Glad to see someone putting the dogs wellbeing FIRST!

Hope you ankle gets better soon.

Stay off the ankle.

You probably will not heed that remark...but important as you have dogs to work when healled..if you push it too soon, you may have to have it   REBROKE and set again......

sometimes we think we are INVINSIBLE>>>>>hope you find homes soon...Thanks for your love of the DOGS>
