|
|
Our adopted boy Wolf von der Hausmaul is ailing. My stepdaughter called me last night & this morning to describe his symptoms, & he is going to the vets tomorrow morning, she has a friend staying with him to care for him & keep him quiet today while she is at work. Please pray for his recovery. He's a grand old man, & we love him dearly. jackie harris

| Ok guys...I picked up Wolf & brought him home....he was have difficulty with his back legs, at one point my stepdaughter said he was having trouble moving at all, I was fearing something catastrophic...but he is walking now, moving all 4 legs...the back legs are very stiff, but he is moving them. He was able to releive himself once he got here, although he couldn't lift his leg. He's going to the vet for a work up in a couple hours, but I feel more optomistic than I did before....See? All those prayers & good vibes & positive energy really worked! I'll let you know how we make out...I'm praying that it was just a strain or something, & not something major, as I had feared. Oh man...6 hours behind the wheel after 8 hours working...I hope I'm even making sense! Gonna try to get a nap before Wolf's appointment! jackie harris |

|
| Please do keep us posted! But it is encouraging that he is moving around on his own. Does sound like maybe a pulled muscle or a pinched nerve. Good luck! |

That's good news, good luck with his vet appointment, sending more positive vibes!!

| Yay! More good news! Wolf's x-rays were pretty good, hips still look great, no infective processes, no parasites, no osteo sarcoma, no tumors of any kind, vertebral spaces even except for 1 that showed some calcification, there was some bridging along the spine, some spondylosis...so he has an arthritic spine; now for the not so good, he has an enlarged prostate, & some muscle wasting on the right side, so she said while he may not have been lame, he has not been using his right rear back & leg as fully as the left side for a while. So he's going home with an anti-inflammatory for 2 weeks, & resting for 2 weeks, & if no improvement, steroids & on to the neurologist. So, all in all, not so bad. Our vet suspected cancer after her initial exam, so not seeing those tumors was a big relief! All your prayers & positive energy & good vibes truly works, it's more powerful than most of us know! So, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! jackie harris |

Hi Jackie, I am so glad all is well, when dogs have some muscle wasting, they start them with re-hab along with the
non-steroid anti-infla, but again I am very glad he is doing well.
Always,
Cee |

Cee, I asked the vet about rehab-ing him, but she wants to make sure he is improving with the Rimadyl first, then start rehab if he shows that the inflammation is diminishing. If no improvement, then to the neurologist before increasing his activity.....but here, I can show you exactly what HE thought of the vet today....... .....LOL! Gotta love him! jackie harris |

|
| Gosh he looks great, such a handsome man dog and very lucky to have you. Thanks for the update. Once the vet Ok's rehab, if you have access to a heated pool warm water is better than cold for the healing process, but any swimming is a good thing, especially if he enjoys it. |

And my stepdaughter takes such good care of him, too. He's a very good boy, he's asleep next to the bed, now, sooty toes & all.....I should be napping before we take him back home, but I'm over-tired, I guess. I enjoy having him around so much, he's got such a mellow, intelligent personality. I think he is the finest GSD I've had the privledge of knowing, we owe it to him to make his life as good as it can be. He's earned it. But thanks Sue...I feel like it's the other way around, we're so lucky to have him in our lives. Best regards, jackie harris |

Well, Wolf is back home with his person now...the first thing he did was to rush around the house & check on his buddy, an ancient Chow; his toys, & then he had to check on the cats, & groom them....he gave them a 'cat scan', ha-ha-ha! Awesome pictures Rho, thank you so much! Yes his birthday is coming up!
And THANK YOU everyone! I'm too tired to name everyone, but you all know who you are, God bless you all! Now I'm going to bed for the first time in >36 hours.......YAWN! I'll update, probably Monday...give the meds a chance to do their work. Thanks again, jackie harris |

I will pray for Wolf. My wife just lost her tiny 4 1/2 pound Pomeranian earliar this week. We had her for 18 great years. Tiny dogs but so lovable and so intelligent.
We miss you Chica.
