You can't get Black, Sable and Bi-Colour VA dogs anymore...they just not Very Aweful dogs!!!!!! |

It gives no black VA dog. The black dogs always run behind the multicolored dogs.
But there are very beautiful, good looking - V - black dogs, which were bred with workingsline dogs.

| You are NOT going to find a VA black (or sable, or bi-color) dog in Germany, or anywhere else! Neither, Nate Harves, Wallace Payne nor anyone else can find one for you, because it does not exist. You will find a magical uniform first.
But...if you have the cash and lack of ethics, you can "invent" one: find a VA R &B dog and go to one of the breeders known for dyeing dogs. LOL |

If it existed, (which I'm not saying it does), the person looking to purchase better have extremely deep pockets. It's really an unheard of thing. The VA dogs are not going to be sables, blacks, etc. They will be showline black and reds. That's the reality.
There are some extremely good looking working line V rated dogs. Those will fetch top dollars also.
It is my personal opinion that an all black dog shows faults more readily than other coat colors. But, when you get a well structured all black dog, they can be very pleasing to the eye and very beautiful when properly maintained and conditioned.

I have to correct a couple of the posters here: VA-2 Timo vom Berrekasten is a sable dog, and if it was not for his color he would have been Sieger in the following year!
Unfortunately, it is true that there is no black dog with a VA-rating in Germany and even V-ratings are often hard to come by. Black males who are big-boned with a correct topline are priceless and won't be for sale - I know because we have one but only because we bred him ourselves!
However, I am sure that you can buy a promising youngster while over there.
You could check with Willi Mueller, breeder of "Salztalblcik", who is pretty much the biggest breeder of workinglines in Germany. His website is www.salztalblick.de and he usually always has a dog for sale or knows of one.
Another option is to contact Terry who is a licensed dog broker in Germany with a great reputation. In addition of him being fluent in English, he is well known by a lot of working people here as they have purchased dogs through him. He has also successfully participated at National and International events. His kennel name is "vom Argatos" (even though he does not breed himself any longer). You can reach him under TerhorstFrank@aol.com .
Good luck in your search!

Could you describe this outfit, Mystere? If one does find it, is it so spectacular that it will it help get a VA placing on a 'jet black ipo3 kkl1a work line dog'?
Sorry, but I just couldn't resist....I've got a mental picture now of a magical dog-showing ensemble.

Umm, I don't know.You willhave topick 3 out of 4 ofyour requirements...
jet black - no problem, plenty of them there.
IPO 3 - same as above
VA - Very much NOT likely
KKL1- No problem, plenty of them around
If you lower your standard a bit and instead of VA, you get 3 requirements above and a SG rated dog, you could find some of them around there. Bring plenty of cash and best of luck with everything.

There is now a male in the U.S. that fits Silbersee's description, Hannes vom Spadener Holz, standing at stud in WA w/von Grunheide. V in conformation and work. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/370489.html
btw, is Will Mueller's Paska vom Salztalblick still alive? I thought I read sometime in this database that he passed away. Have not seen him in person but certainly one of the best looking GSDs ever in his pics at least.
Is the Salztal-Höhe kennel ownde by Herr Mueller as well?

DDRshep,
Paska vom Salztalblick was euthanized in fall of 2007 due to an injury. Willi Mueller told me about it on the phone. But he has lots of nice offspring. We own two homebred V-rated siblings and we just had a litter out of his son V-Nolan vom alten Wingertshaus. Nolan not only brings Paska but also V- Buster vom Adelmannsfelder Land on the mother side (Wito vd Stadt Schmalkalden which carries East German blood). Nolan's mother Xallie has produced some really well structured black dogs (just look at Paul's F-litter "vd schwarzen Seeperlen").
Salztalhoehe is owned by Rita Mueller. |
