do all TOTW taste the same? (8 replies)

Not that I am assuming anyone has actually tasted them lol but my nearly 8 month old GSD that I recently switched from Wellness large breed puppy food, doesnt seem to like the new food. I am lucky to get her to eat 2 cups a day, here lately. and since I am doing the early stages of schutzhund with her, i worry that she will get too thin.
so, I am wondering if one of the other forms of TOTW might taste better to her. Or do you suppose they all pretty much taste the same? should I maybe try a different brand of food altogether?
also, she has eaten deer poo and horse poo a few times recently. could she have picked up something from that which might be affecting her appetite? She seems fine, otherwise. i should probably get a stool sample and take it to the vet.
I feel like a worried mother!

my 13 month 75lb male only eats 4 cups a day of TOTW he's still growing.
my 19 month 58 lb female eats 2 cups and she is getting fat.
my 3 year 75lb female eats 2.5 to 3 cups a day.
my 11year old 65lb female eats 1.5 to 1.75 cups a day.
how much does your puppy weigh?
what was the caloric intake per cup with the other food vs the new food? |

I email the totw company and they sent me about 7 sample bags of each flavors yes a total of about 21 or more samples my 4 shepherds all loved the bison,and wetlands my 10 wk old pup was the only one that would wet the fish.Had them all on canidae but seems like they lost interest in it.
They have been on totw now for almost 3 weeks now and nice coats less stools and firm stools

My dogs ALL like the Pacific Stream. The picky eaters don't like the others.

My 2 are on the bison (prairie) and they love it. Never have problems with them eating. Their coats are shiny & really soft.

8 yr old 75 lb bitch eats 3.5c a day of Pacific
7 yr old 60 lb bitch eats 3c a day if Prarie
22 mo. old 65 lb bitch eats 3.5-4c a day of Prarie
6 yr old 65 lb male eats 3c a day of Prarie
They all look great, low stool volume, high energy, correct weights, and enjoy the food. They smell different so I would imagine they taste different to the dogs as well.

My GSD weighed 57 pounds about 3 weeks ago. My Aussie and Rat terrier both love the High prarie totw. thinking about trying the stream formula to see if my gsd likes it any better. I tried mixing it with a little canned food to entice her, but she just picked that out, and spit out the totw! What amount she has eaten, seems to be causing no problems.
Trial and error, I suppose. thank you all for your replies
