Hey Jill, you can post this here!
( I saw it in the classifieds, some put ads on here, and some pay to put their questions there!)
http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/classifieds/87911.html

My female will be 16 weeks on Wednesday and I just noticed this about her leg. She is limping very slightly but I am getting nervous. What does this look like, HOD,Growth plate, or a pastern issue..??
I have her on Eagle puppy and she does get exercise but not over doing it.

My dog had a lump something like that only it was on it back leg and she was not a puppy. I think she was 5. She will be 6 soon. My vet If I can rember said that it was like a calcium depoist that grows. It is totally non cancerous and it is a GSD trait. She said it could either grow back or not. So far not. I am just now sure that something like that can grow when the dog is a puppy. Def get it checked out.

Hi Dodie, I saw this in the classifieds, and posted it here for Jill, although, I'm not sure she saw it here. I wonder how she is too.

I'd have it checked also... ASAP... first thought is Pano, but could be some digestive issue that's causing her to fail to metabolize her food properly... almost looks like rickets, but with the diet you're giving her that shouldn't be an issue. I'd do a blood pannel and perhaps x-ray to see if it can pin down the issue. Keep us posted...

The "lump" everyone is worried about to me just looks like her growth plate, her pasterns, however, are are not straight. I do know of a dog who had weak pasterns as a pup who wore braces for several hours a day and at maturity they are straight and strong. Great for soundness and working, genetics of course are another story. You should confer with your vet or if you can afford it, an orthopaedic specialist. Eagle is ok but nothing special.
