Why are you allowing this site to become filled with trash about American Politics? I think these post should be considered abuse and flagged as such.
Please help us out here
This is suppose to be a site for discussing dogs EVEN under General topics.
Other Topics (OT) should be about the following:

someone's brag
Dog people like:
Trainers
Exhibitors
Upcoming events
newborn litters
ANYTHING that's about DOGS!
NOT the United States or any other countries Government unless it pertains to DOGS!

You should look at the members posting... Not many of the old posters to this message board are no longer posting or even anywhere around this site much at all.
This is a ghost town. Old members are talking amongst each other and say your message board has become Oli's "JOKE" not someplace to be taken seriously, people are shaking their heads in at you for allowing this site to deteriorate to a few people with narrow minded opinions that belong on another forum.

Here is the way i see the USA way of life now with the new adminstration, looking at it as an outsider well almost
Those who voted for Mr Obama are i guess happy that the man is in power and they hope he and his govenment will bring them and there country men a better way of Life
Those who were apposed to Mr Obama will not accept he is in the Job and i guess will continue to talk and go on about it , although it will not make any difference in the coming years
People accept he has the Job, and for the sake of everywhere that he makes a good job of it for what happens in your country affects a lot of other countries as well, And it certainly does over here in Europe, we are all in the same postition as you or as we say in in the UK, if it does not work out then 'We are up the Creek without a Paddle'

Oli would be in more of a position to say whether or not your statement is correct.
If you look at the views on each topic, that tells you what many are interested in. I personally do not frequent any other boards. Some sit on the computer all day long and go to many different sites, not me, so I appreciate the diverse topics. It keeps me on top of things, in the know.  |

Look at the world today it is not only the USA that is suffering every where is including the UK
I live in Belgium, my pension comes from England and i have no other income other than is sent from there, this last 12 months my Pension has gone down by a third, because the sterling is not compatible with the Euro, my money changes to Euros so with the weak £ my money has lost a third by the time i get it and that is a third every month
The cost of living in Belgium is over a Quarter higher than the UK, so now we are in trouble and you think you have it hard, No the Dogs must get by on a cheaper food, i have to get by on cheaper and less food, but that is life, i want no hand outs only what i have earned and am entitled too,
If countries looked after there own more without giving handouts to all that ask and stopped immigrants entering the countries unless they are self supporting, and looked after there own people more it will be a better place for all

You rarely see me on political topics, because I come to this board to talk dogs, not talk politics. So guess what I do? You can try it yourself, but I warn you, it's REALLY HARD. I don't read or post on topics that I don't want to. It's a hell of a challenge, but I'm sure if you put forth the effort, you can do it, too.

I like this new Breed Forum and General Topics section, it was a good idea. It's a shame more people don't appreciate the things people do for the overall of everyone. That is evident here. Some people just like the attention I think, like it makes them feel better or something morbid. It reminds me of parasites mentioned from the abortion thread for some reason. I'll never forget that thread the rest of my life, thanks.
Some people just like to make things miserable for others, and some people stiffle others opinions just because. What's happening here in OT Topics sometimes Politics .. people are wakin' up. And they know it. it's a last ditch effort to silence those who oppose due to facts.
I personally like to contribute to the Politics on any Forum, and I do. Some people appreciate that, some don't, of course.
I also think that if Oli wanted to silence the OT Topics and or Politicals and or US posters he surely would have by now, I'm just glad he doesn't as he indirectly is part of the world solution and that is also evident. Thanks Oli !!

Let me chime in here to say I, too, find all the political threads a royal pain in the butt.
I can't believe the BS they contain either. They are not even INTELLIGENT political threads, but mostly extreme right-wing propoganda posted by people who haven't a clue about the world outside their own narrow boundaries.
I cringe when I think of international posters reading them, and perhaps thinking these views represent what all Americans think. |

The problem with the ot stuff is that it really has taken over the board. The board has become more of a political forum, less knowlegable people are coming here to talk about dogs because of all the poliitical, religeous and other OT stuff.
When the people with knowlege about dogs post here their voices are often drowned out by the people who post for hours a day and the insight into the animals that we are supposedly here for is diluted eitther by opinionated inexperienced people posting on dog threads, political threads or people who just want to argue
I am not saying that political discussions are bad, just that dog topics should be the predominant topic of a dog board

I belong to a really great schutzhund club, it's a bit of a trek, usually takes me between 2 to 3 hours to get there, but I am very lucky to belong to a club with many very good members, some of whom are national and international level competitors, and a great TD who is also an excellent helper, competes on the National and International stage and is also a judge. Plus we have a couple of really good helpers, both extremely talented, comes in handy when the club is made up of young green dogs, pups and seasoned competition dogs eh? We train 3 days a week. on private land. If you ever come down this way, we would welcome you with open arms as you did for me at your wonderful club, the Dog Mahal, in Oregon.
I assume that's what you were asking me about since anything else would have nothing to do with dogs. |

Raymond and Maggs, In this country, it is quite common for people to travel great distances to train with particular clubs and in some areas the only clubs to be found are great distances from many people who train in schutzhund. Of course if you knew ANYTHING about schutzhund in the USA, you would know this. You would also realize being grateful to have such a club as I have within driving distance is not bragging, it's called appreciating the club. Here is a novel idea: Maybe you should think about actually learning something about schutzhund before opening your mouths, then possibly you wouldn't continue to embarrass yourselves and be the butt of every joke on this board. |

These are some very strange times politically.........many things that I personally have expressed to you and others is coming true.
Only at the local level can enough people get involved in politics to make a difference. If enough big-government Democrats and, yes, big-government Republicans are replaced at both State and national levels in 2010, we may yet have a chance to stop the slide this President has put us in. But I fear we have already passed the high point of America's greatness, and too many will settle for the immediate gratification of getting something for "nothing" to turn the country from its path. Entitlements are a drug to which more and more people will become addicted every day between now and the next elections.

This is the first time we've elected a President who promised to lose a war and treat enemies captured on the battlefield as though they were American citizens caught committing ordinary crimes. It's the first time we've elected a President who promised to take away any of our Constitutionally-protected rights, or deliberately make them too expensive to exercise for the ordinary citizen. It's the first time America has elected a President whose only legislative accomplishments involved ensuring that children who manage to survive an abortion, don't.
Never before have we elected a President who campaigned on the basis of giving everything to everyone and solving all problems. We were never that naive. Either Obama voters really believed he could deliver on all his conflicting promises, or didn't care how much he lied to the other guys as long as THEIR agenda item was taken care of. We never before elected a President because of his skin color, or because he could read a script well, or because he looked nice on camera and had a soothing voice. But now we have the American Idol President, the Affirmative Action President, the "community organiser" who worked his way up through the Chicago political machine by hobnobbing with known terrorists and fiery anti-American radical preachers.
For you and others the most important consideration during the election was he was not BUSH. For 15% of the population they voted for Obama because he was Black. That was the main theme I got from this board. Would you like examples?
