Has anyone had any dealings with Von Waldberg German Shepherds in Snohomish, Washington (state)? If so, your experience with them? cleanliness? Helpfulness? I heard he is breedings dogs that may have a heart issue (one he uses for stud). Any comments would be appreciated, as I purchased a dog from him years ago that was sick, and got a call from a young girl in seattle that just bought a dog from him for 1500, a pup, and she is selling him as she does not want to give the dog back to him.
Private feedback only please. (PM me)

I would love to know who on earth ever told you Phil would use a stud male with a heart problem. My family has purchased numerous shepherd from Von Waldberg GS and they have been the best dogs, the healthiest dogs, the smartest, most loyal companions. I've visited their kennel multiple times. They have the most stunning property with the cleanest kennels I've seen and I've visited a few kennels. Whoever you've been talking to is full of hot air. You need to go to the west coast and visit them. Every time I've ever had a question or needed help with training or anything, they've been great to help and answer all my questions.
You should really check out their website. Their dogs are the best out of Germany. I've done all my own research before I bought their dogs. Their dogs are all KK1a. If you research it, it means the dogs have NO health problems, NO hip problems and they've been through this insane breed survey to prove it all.

Mack,
You apparently did not research enough, if you think that KK1a means "NO health problems, NO hip problems" and that the breed survey actually proves anything. The German hip scheme INCLUDES noch zuglassen (sp) which means moderate dysplasia and is acceptable!! So, a dog can have a KK1 and actually have moderate dysplasia, if the hips are ng. Also, a breed survey does NOT screen for any health problems. It does not even ask about any. I have seen dogs that the koermesiter knew had a thyroid problem get KK1.
The breed survey "proves" nothing other than the fact that the dog has a hip rating acceptable to the SV, a sch title (which could be from a Midnight Trial), passed an AD, and has a show rating of at least "G." If you had ever seen some of the breed surveys on the West Coast (assuming that you get there a hour or so earlier than it was scheduled to begin in some cases in order to actually see it) you would know that the helper work is nearly always far sub-par in order for the dogs to pass.
If you live in Washington State, I would suggest that you check out the show and survey next week in BC. |

You have apparently never been to Germany and seen how it is actually done in Germany. The level to which they screen and track and scrutinize everything is completely different than in the US.
Phil also has all the hips scores on his dogs along with the kk1 and the A stamp for the hips. His dogs have the best hips ratings possible.

| Mack,
You simply do not know what you are talking about. I have seen many of the dogs sent to Germany for titles, including Phil's and by Phil. Again, please do take the bother to check out some of the local trials and surveys, so you can learn. |
