I rescued a female sable shepherd she is appx 3 years old. she was at a local shelter and someone rescued her in jan 2008 but found out they were having a new baby and couldnt keep her. anyway, she has a tattoo in her right ear that reads 48809. thats it, no letters in it at all. I was wondering if someone could help me find out about her. maybe where she came from, she might even have a home looking for her. she is a wonderful dog, i'd like to find out more about this girl. any help at all will be greatly appreciated, Thank You.

Check with the National Dog Registry. Hopefully she's listed.

I did email the National Dog registry a couple of days ago, but no response yet. i am going to try the Schutzhund club and GSDCA to see what i can find. i was hoping maybe someone had a way to search tattoo's. that would be great!

Aww, thats such a shame the people who rescued her weren't able to provide a forever home.

I don't know whether you live in the UK, but I had a look on the National Dog Tattoo Register website and there is a telephone number on there which is: Tel: 01255 552455

There is also a map of the different Tattoists in each area of the country with a name and telephone number attached. If you do live in the UK, perhaps you can look up the tattoist in the area the dog was found as I imagine they may also keep a record of their clients (the breeder) and hopefully the breeder will be able to help.

cdr22689, don't get too excited by this, don't know if this would be the dog?? But 48809 is a number for Fiona z Eurosportu (Gaston z Juranovej doliny x Inka Mil-Fre). Fiona was born 20 August 2004. I don't know where Fiona is? I am just saying that 48809 is Fiona's tattoo number. I don't even know if Fiona is sable or not?? Gaston is was sable and Inka is black, if that helps:-)
