Thanks, stormhasit. What does it take to impress you, TwoMoons?
SSDD= same shit, different day. |

Impressed??
No, depressed. If its not one thing its another. I think I need a support group.
I am becoming really sick of the human race, more so that normal. I watched the moon rise tonight and didn't feel a thing.
Good post stormhasit, I'm just tired of the everyday insanity. We're all in deep doodoo and its only going to get worst.

You're right two and a Half moons/ another year and you or any of us wont own a shepherd to worry about..between the Spay and Neuter laws and the Most dangerous List....all dogs will become the property of the USA OF Petland or USA of the New and Changed Government under and over the people of this fine land...and the stamp on your hand or your brow may read......I didnt see it coming....woopee... |

I cannot see that this site has much bearing on anything worth looking at in a serious light
Personally i think it is the owners of most Dogs which are the most dangerous, not the Dogs themselves
Its the owners who dictate what a Dog will become by the management and the way it is looked after,
And most times the Dog is more intelligent than the owners

I'd like to see the author of that article pick up a leash and try to train a few particularly bad specimens of some notorious aggressive breeds. Don't get me wrong, human stupidity plays a huge roll, but not every dog is all that innocent, either. |

That's a cool article. Thanks for sharing. |

Steve1 you said it the best. |

You should read the article. The 10 top most dangerous breeds are brands of people. It's a good read if you're interested. |

Terrificly accurate article! Two thumbs up. |

Man, this is just dumb. More whinning about how animals are better than people. The fact is, some breeds have been bred specifically to inflect damage on people or other animals. These are the same clowns that say "Guns don't kill people, people kill people". |

Finally, an article that true. I even had to educate my mom on the myth of the "locking jaw" of pitbulls, and other myths. I got a chuckle out of this article and sent it to my doggie friends. Good find Stormhasit |

A good article with some excellent points. |

Guns don't kill people. They don't aim and fire themselves. |

I'm with 4pack on this one. It takes a person to purchase the gun, unlock the saftey, load the mag, and pull the trigger. The gun that does that all by itself would be really kind of nifty....kind of like the knives that jump into the air and stabb you.
"The fact is, some breeds have been bred specifically to inflect damage on people or other animals."
I thought I would address this statement - so the dogs selected and bred themselves so they could be more aggressive and inflict more damage? Gee - I thought it was people that did the selection and the breeding.
And it makes me wonder how fewer aggressive dogs we would have if the bad breeders wouldnt breed dogs with crummy temperments...sure you'll get a few...but it wouldnt be nearly the same number.

An animal's actions reflect several things;
How it is being raised, cared for, trained and treated.
How it was bred - for sound temperament, conformation, health and type etc
Oddly enough both of these things are controlled by people.
This is an excellent article. I really enjoyed reading it. I am an advocate for all dog breeds and well honestly all animals.
This really made me chuckle because so many times, I have heard those stereo-types thrown out.
Great post! |

Acknowledging that the breeder or owner (or both) did a crappy job does not make the animal any less dangerous. Did people create it? Sure. Is it the fault of the kid riding his bike down the street who gets mauled? Of course not. I am against BSA in every form, make no mistake, but not every dog is a sweet little cuddlebug and can be treated as such. How many of you have had to handle multiple dogs that genuinely wanted to hurt you? I feel sorry for the dogs, sure, but my concern is first and formost the community as a whole, especially children. |

Why does a dog have to have "crummy temperment" (temperAment) to be aggressive? This kind of thinking is detrimental in itself; the plight of the GSDs today is largely the fault of this logic. GSDs are SUPPOSED to have good aggression...as are a handful of other breeds that have been diliuted by the fat women in cheap flat shoes running around in circles.
The key is control. Control your animal. Confine it so it cannot hurt innocents (people OR animals). I can't let my dogs all interact and run around together; it would be a bloodbath. I assure you all that not one of them has poor temperament, or they would be, um, no longer with us. However, I have had not one incident where one of my dogs got off my property and hurt an innocent animal or person. It is not a question of luck, or a question of aggression/lack of aggression. It's a simple matter of common sense and control.
The article is a great "turning of the tables" on the BSL morons. Instead of breeding wussified dogs for all the intellectually challenged pet "lovers" so that we have fewer aggressive dogs, why doesn't everyone just employ a tiny bit of common sense and learn how to handle the aggressive dogs they have, or stick to what they can handle? Why ruin good dogs for everyone with a brain? I will never understand this. |

LOL! Thanks, 4pack. It shouldn't be novel thinking, though. It's simple logic. |
