right age for show ring (1 replies)

My Gsd just participated in a show ring held at our town at the age of 12 months. Other Gsd's were much older than him about 3 years and above where he was asked to trot and did'nt act enthusiatically. Also he was out between so many strangers for the first time. At home he is full of fire but di'nt show at the ring. The jugde advices that he is a good dog but a bit slow. I am sure he will do good the next time and also that it is to early but would like to hear from u all also if I am right or not. |

sounds to me like you haven't socialized your pup enough! take him out to new places and get him used to big crowds this should have been done as a young pup!! |
