I just received an email from my pet food supplier. Timberwolf has a recall on two of its products.

Dakota Bison: Expiration date Feb 12/09

Ocean Blue: Expiration dates Feb 2/09 & Mar 8/09

There was no further information than to return it to the supplier and they would replace it.

This is what happens when you have no control in the manufacturing of your food.  Chenago Valley Pet Foods manufactures Timberwolf.

I just called the store I buy from and they were told to pull all food in "new packaging."  not just those dates listed.....

I found out from a golden retriever forum that at least one person had problems with this product back in March.  They were told at that time the company was testing to find the problem.  That is stll the story.  The golden owners got reimbursed for the expenses they incurred treating their dogs for diarrhea.  I just got off the phone with Timberwolf CS and was told the food is peroxidizing faster than it should be.  So, the food is going bad in the bag.  They have told me that they are switching manufacturers - food or bags? 

they also told me dogs thath already have issues were the ones having issues now....  healthy dogs were not having any problems.  Nice.

My Dog loves Tmberwolf, but he refused to eat the Dakota Bison, which in the past he loved. I initially thought something was wrong with my Dog, so I switched to Timberwolf Wilderness and he was fine.
