Well, I like the work dogs but the dogs you posted are not very good looking at all.. I would choose the show dogs over the work dogs posted on this thread...

I agree with Dennis. I am a Working Dog person through & through but none of those pictures have their dogs stacked well enough to evaluate and of course a head shot of a black puppy is adorable but we can't judge the conformation. Of all these posted, I hate to say it but I like Arak the show dog the best.

Ditto about being a working dog person and thinking most of the pics of the working dogs weren't good ones, except I thought the photo of the Falk vd Wolfen son (Canto) was a really nice picture. Also I couldn't see anything wrong with the dog in the 2nd link...................... |

Considering that you're asking for a completely subjective opinion on which dog is most "appealing" then the black puppy wins for sheer cuteness. LOL.
Seriously, everyone has their own perceptions of what is "appealing" in a dog. The show lines are more cookie cutter in appearnance and either you like them or you don't. I'm a working line chick myself, and none of those dogs featured would make my top ten list. But this is all just opinion anyway, for what it's worth - not much! Too much subjectivity in such an analysis as this. ;)

i currently own a showline female and my late showline male was drop-dead gorgeous. people's jaws would literally drop when they saw him. i am very partial to the showline appearance, though i must agree that there are some beautiful working line dogs as well. but then to me, every dog is beautiful in its own way. |

I am too a workingline person . I have had showlines in the past and own a son to my first GSD who was showline. The one thing that I have noticed with alot of the showlines nowadays is that they seem to be roached back. I like the looks of the wrokingline and also the drives. If I had to pick from the pictures I would say that I like Canto also. I prefer the Czech lines and the DDR lines.

Yellow: That's why I said I didn't see anything wrong with the dog in the 2nd link - I couldn't see anything at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Ew, the first showline bitch you posted is terrible. Roached back and grossly overangulated. No, thank you, and I love showlines. I would certainly NOT call showlines "cookie cutter"- my dogs look nothing like that one! That being said, there are some truly gorgeous V rated working line dog out there, some which I would take over certain showlines any day. I prefer to evaluate the quality of the individual dog, not based on color or lines. |
