When you get a dog from Germany you have to be registered as the new owner and all you have to do is request a Bescheinigung from the SV. You will have to mail the Bescheinigung, copy of the 3 generation pedigree and the foreign registration application to the AKC. It is no big deal at all. |

Actually...All you have to do is send in a Certified Copy of your Pedigree/Registration from the SV...and request a Bescheinigung...It does cost that much to do so...I think like $16 plus shipping...

Boxer247,
If you would sell a dog because you had a hard time getting him registered that does not say much for you. It is very easy to get an SV registered dog an AKC registration. That is a little much that you would just up and sell the dog just so you can buy one that is easier to register.

| Hmmm.... sounds like you may have had more serious reasons to "sell" the dog because it was too hard for you register with AKC??? This is a new one to me. I admitt for a first timer it can seem overwhelming because you've never done it and want to make sure it's done correctly but if you truly had a nice dog I can't imagine you'd give it up for that reason alone. That would seem pretty dumb don't ya think?? |

I have an import to register also....how do I get the Bescheinigung? I am not the person that imported this dog, I am the second US owner. Does that make any difference? |
