Leading Oil Analyst predicts this rise in the near future on CNBC..
http://www.businessandmedia.org/articles/2008/20080521145247.aspx
How exactly will it effect you, your dogs, your sport?
We have looking for a new minivan, which might double as a hunting transport vehicle for me, & get rid of the Ford Truck I own, at 16mpg presently. Long trips will be difficult.
A Declining Dollar=A Declining Nation
Im glad we are spending $1 trillion overseas & not worrying about inflation however. |

I have 6 GSD's, so it should not affect me much being I can get a dog sled and learn mush instead of fuss. |

LMAO Jim! Not only that....we just brought a new house with enough land for a horse. Horse and buggy baby! |

Oh, I'm not worried about it. Bush will pull a miracle out of his hat and suddenly just before election the price will begin to drop and the credit will be given to the wiley Republicans and used as a gimic to get McCain et al elected. OR the oil companies will have a heart and decide that it's really un-American to make record profits every quarter while us peons are eating beans. The CEO;s will give up their obscene perks and salaries so those earning minimum wage can even get to work without spending their entire paycheck on fuel. OR we just might get smart and start to think about the most environmentally friendly way to recover and refine our own oil until we find a viable alternative fuel. You could also buy a Harley, they get great gas mileage and my husband works there so you'd be helping us buy our own gas. I'd love that.
It all sucks, doesn't it? Thank you Dubya, you certainly have helped to change the way we do business and live in this country. Lucky for us you were elected to 2 terms. Who could ask for more? |

Out of his hat or out of his ass Blitzen? My mom and I were talking about that exact thing last night. She's pulling a large horse trailer with a diesel truck about 200 miles today and it's gonna hurt the pocket. It's gotten so she can't afford even the smaller, cheaper horse shows.
I just remembered that the prices of hay has also skyrocketed due to the cost of fuel so I guess a horse is out. It's bad enough that the dog food prices have increased. |
|
|
|
|
Everything is skyrocketing due to the price of oil. Many things we don't even think of are effected; everything we wear, use and eat has been produced by petroleum somewhere along the line and it is delivered by trucks fueled with diesel. The railroads may be the only industry to benefit in the the end. Chicken feed, cattle feed, the diesel to fuel the tractors to plow the fields, plant, and harvest the food we will be eating next year. Hay, straw, is predicted to at least double in price by the end of this year. We will be paying as much for pole beans this yearaas we paid for filets in 2000. The upside is maybe some of us will lose the weight we have packed on eating those filets.
BTW, be very careful with chickens this year. Much of the "organic chicken feed" is being imported from China now. If you are a raw feeder and buy organically fed chickens, be sure to ask the chicken raiser where their food comes from. Best to be using locally milled animal feed right now. If you're feeding free range chickens, you're OK. But if you're buying it at the supermarket or a butcher shop that processes "organically fed" poultry using Chinese feed, you may as well be feeding Eukanuba. It's probably a lot safer in today's world.
Innaguration Day 2009 can't come fast enough for me.

I have 3 horses and 5 dogs along with a new house. The price of fuel is hurting everyone in our country in one way or another. Is our government blind or just DAMN greedy. They want the crime rate to go down, but they are making it harder for the average person to raise a family. If the fuel prices keeps climbing the crime rate is going to do the same.

Maybe the tree huggin libs should just let us drill our own oil then we would be fine. Or if the whack jobs in CA would loosin up and let us build some refineries it may help.
Dont blame GWB for all of this. There is a lot more involved than him and this war.
As far as our dollar being worth nothing, you can thank the libs in Congress that forced the financial institues to loan money to people that should not have a credit card let alone a god damn mortgage. Then when these people could not keep up with there rising adjustable mortgages they lost their houses. Houses they never should have had in the first place. Then our brilliant government decided to lower the interest rate causing our dollar to lose value to try and help these people. A problem Congress created. I dont mind putting blame where it goes but lets be fair, this does not rest soley on Bush. A president can do almost nothing without the approval of Congress.
I know I bit into this, but what does this have to do with dogs?
Shawn |

It effects dog sport and breeding in quite a few ways. Middle class people are doing away with the things that they would spend their expendable cash on. Therefore, they aren't buying the higher priced animals nor are they importing them. Attendance at trials (and horse shows) is way down. It's more expensive to fly judges in and for people to drive to the trials.
Feed the dogs or pay for gas? Buy another pup or pay for gas? Shoot, come to think of it...feed myself or pay for gas? |
|
|
|
|
Shawn..the question was phrased...."How will this effect YOU & YOUR DOGS"?
Price right now Has Nothing to do with Supply. Theres plenty of Oil.
The US Dollar is Declining, at all time lows, DUE to Financing an overseas Disaster (Iraq) $600 Billion + to date, creating more inflation & a devalued currency.
Congress doesnt make loans.
The Fed Reserve (A Private Banking cartel, never audited) loans money to our banks, & at the behest of the Fed-home loans were encouraged to the Banks, BY the Fed...Arm loans especially, remember?
The FED Creates Bubbles, Not the Congress. The President sets a Budget & congress approves or vetoes it.
Subprime Loans are only 15% of the bad loans out there, Shawn. It is the struggling economy, outsourcing & Inflation that is causing people to not afford their payments & unwilling banks to correct the problem & freezing or restructuring Mortgage Notes.. |

I dont think we will ever pay that much for gas because we can't. If it goes that high only the elite will be driving along with the goverment officials and the military. The rest of us will just have to take what we are given by the powers that be.
The goods that we can't live without will be priced out of the range of the average person and there will be a new order of class in this country. You'll be on one side or the other of the line.
How will it effect us?? In every possible way thats how. I will vote against every incumbent in office now. If you want change then change it all from the ground up. Just remember, we've waited too long and change is gonna take time. We will suffer the price of our mistake's.
Drill all the holes you like, oil is not renewable and we will consume the very last drop. I believe there will be war over resources of all kinds in the near future.
Have a lovely fxxxing day,
Me. |

I know I think twice before I turn the ignition key these days. When my old AWD Aerostar is tuned up, it gets about 22 mpg highway. I don't know of any other vehicle I could afford that will pull a dog trailer and carry 4 #500 crates + all my junk, suitcases etc., so I will just try to keep ole-Red going for as long as possible, plan trips to be as efficient as possible and stay home a lot more than I otherwise might.
I'm with varga: DRILL in Alaska, build more refineries. We have enough oil on US soil to keep us going a LONG time, if the tree-huggers would lighten up and let us reduce our dependence on foreign oil! I really don't think Hillary or Obama can/would do a damend thing about our oil prices, but am hoping McCain will choose an economic genius for VP. Dubya is a lame duck at this point. He might be able to do something tomake the party look good this fall, but I wouldn't expect that to last much longer than election day.

Shelley,
I think your wrong about Alaska, and how much oil is on American soil. And I think your wrong about how long it will be before things get really bad.
Politics are not going to make it go away and I would rather have wilderness than highways overflowing with cars, tree hugger or not.
Our country had a booming rail system at one time, that might be a good place to start. Today everything you buy is moved on a truck, makes no sense.
Our system makes no sense either, we elect the one with the most money and the most baggage. We let others decide for us instead of using our own voices. We allow power to reign over the law of the land.
Ahh,

I've talked to a lot of people who've noticed a significant decline in people spending big money on not only dogs but everything from a new car, a vacation or even taking your family out to dinner.
I think all of us have to make a choice now....drive to a sporting event or save the money on gas to drive back n forth to work for the next week?? Import another dog or buy a smaller car that's more fuel efficient??
I never used to even think about how far I'd have to drive to get to where I needed or wanted to go or how much money in gas it'd cost me but when the only vehicle's in your house are both V8's it's kinda tough not to think about it when you just watch the fuel needle quickly go to empty before you reach the first exit on the highway.
There's a lot of things killing our economy right now and I fear it's gonna be a long time before we are on a more stable footing economically. If you look around the shopping centers you'll probably notice they're not as full as they used to be. My mom works in a popular resturaunt in our area and you used to have to wait over an hour for a table....not any more, you get a seat right away. It's hurting everyone and everything right now; times are just tight. |

I'm in the contracting business and I have 4, f-150 trucks that go out everyday. The fuel bill has went out of site, then everything you buy that is petrolium based has went sky high. These idiots in congress better get their head out of there ass or they will shut this machine down, and there not smart enough to figure out how to start it up again. I can't believe anybody would be importing dogs due to the Euro and week Dollar.I bought my last dog in the states because of that reason. Hope somebody steps up to the plate soon and says enough is enough.

Well said Shelley & Blueshep....
I too work for a construction company. We are booming. My wife and I make less than $85,000 a year. I own my house, a new Suburban with the big V8, commute 45 miles one way to work and I own 2 GSD's with 2 Kids also. I am doing just fine. So is most other people I know. It is very few people that are truly hurting. I dont have any sympathy because someone cant travel hundreds of miles to show or trial, or now they cant import a dog because the cost is too high. We live in an expensive society. I live in one of if not the most expensive state to live in (CA). My dog training and dogs have not suffered one bit.
Uglydog...I am not even going to get into it with you over this overseas war.
As far as the subprime loans, that was just an example. Dont try and tell me that just because Congress or the Govt for that matter cant influence these banks to give homeloans. Because that is exactly what happened. Your right they dont make the loans, they can jus do away with tax breaks and other benefits to these banks.
Two Moons...Im not saying we needmore highways. But you have to decide what is more important the spotted owl or the 3 eyed Moose or you being able to afford Gas. And dont forget Oil is wha runs this country. I for one can do with a lot less trees and owls and moose and whatever other animal MAY be affected by the US drilling for its own Oil |

Its coming your way Vargas, Just wait.
$4 a gallon gas will be the good ole days. A military draft is coming after the election, more Bank Closings, more Foreclosures (hasnt even started yet), a broader war in the Middle East for Israel, the US dollar will continue deteriorating & home prices in all states will correct another 20-50%.
The FED & Greenspan encouraged ARM LOANS, From the Banks.
Greenspan also Praised the "High efficiency credit scoring models being implemented" which was ripe for Fraud. With that, came No DOc loans, stated income loans & massive fraud. Had Nothing to do with Tax Breaks.
The Mortgage Business got in business with Wall Street. This started when the founder of Subprime & a Billionaire Holocaust Survivor, named Roland Arnall of Ameriquest. sold his soul & destroyed an entire industry. He died recently after being appointed Bushs' Ambassador to the Netherlands.

Oil Supply isnt the issue.
Gas refining isnt the issue.
A DECLINING DOLLAR IS THE Issue. Our US dollars is worth is down 50% since Bush took office. |

I can't haul 4 crates in a Toyota Prius, let alone pull a dog trailer. If I can't take at least 4 dogs, it isn't worth going in my book. When was the last time you hiked through the Alaskan wilderness? Throw bales of hay and dead cattle out of helicopters for the polar bears and caribou for the couple of years it takes to bury another pipeline.
Dogs ARE my work. Transporting them safely to training and events is part of the job. No sub-compact in my immediate future. If it doesn't hold a few crates, equipment, suitcases, and pull a trailer, I have little use for it. Guess I'll just replace the plugs and wires, try to get as much done on each trip as possible.

Diesel alone is killing me for transportation to and from race tracks. I always traveled alone. I now have to travel with a loaded trailer every track entry I run outta state and even just to Philly, I have to charge people 575.00 a head just to cover truck/trailer maintenance and diesel. Full loads are killing my Trucks and Trailers. Even my price is 100.00 cheaper concidering what the full time haulers are asking for traveling outta state. Just 4 years ago I was charging 250.00 - 275.00. It's at the point now, if I can't find heads to full my trailer to go outta state, I have to scratch my horse in a race I'm not 100% sure they can hit the board.
If I can hang in there and pay off my Vet Equipment in the next year or two ... I can quit the Race Tracks and have a practice off my farm.. God willing.

If you want to see something cool, here is a car that runs on compressed air. Cost is $3500 Euros, made in France by the Grand Prix racers & engineers. It Goes 80mph & 300 Miles on 1 charge.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=QmqpGZv0YT4
There a story yesterday in TX about a man that bought an Eagle Talon for $750. He Took out the engine & put in an electric motor. Cost was $4000. It Goes 300 miles on a charge & cost him $7 a month in batteries & charging. Car does speeds of 55mph.
We have the technology. Oil Companies discourage & even buy up the technology, to keep it from getting to market. They are making records profits at this time. Millions of dollars per hour they are making, Billions per month. |

Prime Minister Olmert proposes Naval blockade on Iran
REUTERS
Reuters North American News Service
May 21, 2008 14:54 EST
JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert proposed in talks with a U.S. congressional leader that a naval blockade be imposed on Iran to try to curb its nuclear program, an Israeli newspaper reported Wednesday.
The Haaretz daily quoted Olmert as telling Nancy Pelosi that "the present economic sanctions have exhausted themselves" and the international community needed to take more drastic steps to stop Iran's efforts to obtain nuclear weapons.
Iran is NO Iraq. 3xs the size, Millions of fighters & any "Strategic attack" which is a sanitizing term fr dropping bombs on innocent familes, will be treated like a full scale invasion. Ironically, the NIAE states Iran has No Nukes, unlike Israel, who DOES have Nukes & doesnt disclose them or abide by the Non proliferation treaty.

"Chief Rabbi Metzger thanks Bush for intervening in Iraq
M. Wagner -- Jerusalem Post 1/9/2008
During a short verbal exchange Wednesday at the Ben Gurion Airport Terminal, Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi Yona Metzger thanked George Bush for the US's military intervention in Iraq.
"I want to thank you for your support of Israel & in particular for Waging a War against Iraq," Metzger told Bush, according to the chief rabbi's spokesman.
Bush answered that the words "Warmed His Heart".
-Lets see.... $600+ Billion in Iraq, No progress, no benchmarks, no functioning government, no safety & an economy collapsing at home, while we are being invaded on the OPEN Border. You have just entered another dimension of THE TWILIGHT ZONE..Have fun at the pumps.

blueshep and s vargas- I too can sympathize with you both. We have a commercial contracting business as well and are feeling the sting on the gas prices. I think I needed nitroglycerine for myself the other day when I opened up the fuel credit card bill from everyone's vehicles just for one month. The suppliers are forced to put fuel surcharges on everything now where as before you'd just get charged a flat delivery fee regardless of how big or small the delivery. Most of my suppliers never even charged us for delivery because we dealt in large enough volume but now they've sent out "I" sorry we have to do this BUT" letters regarding fuel surcharges. We in turn have to make up for this additional cost and pass it on to the client who's forever bitchin we charge too much to begin with. lol It's just a never ending circle.
I think I'm gonna have to invent a Hybrid skid loader and dumpt truck. |

Agar, I can relate to the nitroglycerine thing. I felt the same way. I have been in bus for 20 years and have a lot of contacts so we stay very busy. I'm thankful I am not starting a business now. I live in Ohio and we had to go to Detroit last winter for a job because we do work for this company in Ohio. I thought is was bad here until we went to Michigan, I felt sorry for the contractors up their. They told me it was the best job they had in two years. They also said they didn't have anything worth while after that job was finished. I also worry what our kids will have to deal with when they are on their own. I hire college kids for summer help and quite a few are back this year because they can't find work after graduating college. Plus their in debt for school.
Ugly, I always read your posts and sometimes I agree with you, sometimes not. I wish you were a little more on the positive side. People get enough negative shit from the news media. I really doubt gas will go to 12 to 15 dollars per gallon. My 70 year old Mother calls me every other day and and tells me what she saw on CNN. I'm going to get rid of her TV because they scare her with all the garbage and scare tactics they run all day long.
OK enough whining from me, I hope everyone has a great memorial day weekend..............................

There is no oil shortage and never was. The USA went through this in the early 1900 and after they realized the standrad oil crtel was strangling the life out of the country, congress broke it up after we darned near had a revolution over it. People just refused to take it any more and the oil cartel was broken up. Since then oil companies have again cannibalized the small independent oil drillers in kansas, oklahoma, texas and formed another cartel which must be broken up. Problem is that they have bought off most members of congress, paid for the environmental movement, the animal rights movement, epa, and much more, and kept any new refineries from being built for over 29 years. A well known professor at the univ of chicago studied this and found iron clad evidnce that everyu time the price of oil went too low, there was a mysterious refinery fire, or a tanker spill. I remember the oil shortages of the past in early 1970's and 1980's when cars lined up. I personally witnessed the loil tankers low in the water (full of oil) off galveston, texas and heard about all the wells being capped to create the illusion of an oil shortage. A couiple of years ago Russia discovered and underground river of flowing oil, one of the world's greatest deposits, enough for 30 years oil. The worl is literally awash in oil and it appears to be self renewing, contrary to what is being taught. It is not a result of decay of fossils as is being taught but is a mineral that was formed by heat and pressure.
Here is the ugly truth, the dollar has been purposely deflated to drive the price of oil up and to collapse our economy. Right now you are witnessing the single biggest restructuring of our nation economically since the great depression of 1929. The overall end game/purpse/goal is to globalize the usa by destroying it and forming the Norh American Union (NAU consisting of Canada, USA and Mexico). The agreement has already been signed and the union is scheduled to take place in the year 2010. It has already been decided that the govt will be taking control of all food, all water and all energy in the near future. We will be reduced to a third world nation soon. Get used to the idea or "vote em all out". That is get all the "enemies within", these "bought off" traitors out of Congress and govt. Our own govt has declared war on the people and if the people don't stand up and do something soon we will be reduced to pawns in a fascist regime. |

Gas is a major issue for me...I have to drive to get the dog food I like to feed my dogs, have an hours commute to work each way, (both my husband and I), relatives far away...This country has been ruined. When business' collapse, commerce as we know it ceases, consumers become stranded in their suburban homes.....and chaos reigns; who will buy the oil then? Every tankful we buy today pads the pockets of the economic terrorists raping the American public. The apathetic American public is just about fed up---the public's rage is building, finally. Ya'll just can't imagine how pissed off this makes me.....we have the fuel, we have the resources to make fuel, but we export it, & import foreign oil....and our government doesn't give a good God damn, why should they? They're getting rich off us, too. God save America.....I get so upset I can't think straight! Arrrrrrgh! jh |

Maybe the tree huggin libs should just let us drill our own oil then we would be fine.
What do the studies show? Enough oil in ANWR for what, 4 years? 7 years? And then we do this all again? Destroy ANWR? No thanks. The oil companies made $36 BILLION in profits in Jan-Feb-March of 2008. Not earnings, PROFITS. And you think drill for a temporary respite in ANWR and we'll be fine?
And the dollar tanked against the Euro LONG LONG before the mortgage crisis. Get your facts straight.

Truth is that basically opec hasn't raised it prices much in the last 10 years if you peg them to gold, silver or platinum. What has happened is that the central banks of europe, UK and USA have printed too much money out of thin air, with the usa the worse abuser of "fractional fiat currency". The EU denies this trying to promote the idea that their system is all backed by gold, but that is not true, it is fiat too and they have issued (created) too much curreny as has the UK. Then add the middlemen the oils speculators who are agents or buyers of the oil cartel, through enron type games they drive up the price of oil to astronomical levels, which doesn't take much since the dollar today is only worth 60% of what it was before the pres entered office. That is like an armed robber coming to visit you tonight an robbing you of 40% of all your wealth, of everything you worked for all your life. And the robber wasa your own govt and it agent banking system which debased the money on purpose to force feed us globalism and a new NAU (North American Union for 2010). But don't take my word for it, read the writings (and letters) of Thomas Jeferson, John Adams, Ben Franklin, and George Washington and the other founding fathers. What this is can best be understood by reading about the savings and loan scandal (see Pete Brewton's book), the enron scam. This current oil price rise is notghing but another higher order savings and oan, enron type govt based bustout to transfer all the value from the people to the large int'l merchant bankers and global corporations. Wake up foks and vote em all out at every election. Don't ever vote for any politician that voted this crap in and didn't protect us (except for Ron Paul and only about three others who tried buut got nowhere).
Mark my words, if things don't change fast to stop the complete econnomic destruction of the USA, there will be no Dog Sports at all except for the ultra rich. |

There is so much oil off the coast of florida it's simply mind blowing. Enough to run the USA for at least 35 years. But the environmental laws paid for and promoed by the oikl cartel won't allow this. Same goes for all the oil in SD, Montana, Utah, California, off the Coast of California etc. Almost all the oil mined from alaska goes to guess where? Japan.
There is so much oil in alaska it is freaky, at least 20 years worth for the USA. And yet all this propoganda is constantly pumped out in the major mass media, and most folks believe these lies.
The public has so little knowledge about the oil shortage scam it is unbelievable and a real scandal. We are being super chumped from every angle. Wake up and vote em out, all of em. Or there will be no country left, you will be starving in the street with no shelter and certainly there will be no dog sports. |

If they crank oil pricess up that high, they may want to take our weapons first. I see a revolution should this happen! With no jobs, money, homes or food, I'm pretty sure every last one of us will go to war to get it all back. |

Maybe so, Ugly. You are very well read and very knowledgable. I just wish you had some hope folks would stand up and take their country back from the criminals that stole it from them by abusing their elected and appointed govt positions. We need to route these scum out asap.

There will be dog sports, of a different sort, Preston; our dogs will be defending us from marauding gangs of thugs who will hold you up, not to steal your worthless dollars, but to suck your tanks dry, with a quick stab to the tank...no need to unlock a gas cap.....I dream of self suffiency again; grow my own food, wind & solar power....sheep, & shepherds....jh |

Kalibeck, you are correct. Last summer we had a rash of gas thieves in Minnesota that would use a portable drill and lay down and drill a hole in the side of the gas tank with a pan underneath, then come back and pour the gas into a container through a funnel or suction it up. I suppose we will now see more of that this summer. Our nation is 9 trillion in debt which means approx $30,000 for every man woman and child or about $90-120,000 per average family of 3-4. |

This was sent to me by a very paranoid friend who lives in Florida. Sorry for the all CAPS.
I HAVE BEEN PERPLEXED LATELY AS TO WHAT DIRECTION TO TAKE, THERE
IS SUCH A HUGE GAP BETWEEN HUNKERING DOWN FOR A SEVERE STORM AND
HUNKERING DOWN FOR A COLLAPSE IN SOCIETY.......WE ARE ALL PLANNING
FOR DIFFERENT DEGREES OF HARDSHIP ? ~ WE ARE ALL PRETTY MUCH ON THE SAME SHEET
IN REGARDS TO FOOD, WATER AND SHELTER.
THE BIG ISSUE DRIVING ALL THIS CONCERN IS THE GREAT UNKNOWN THAT I
FEEL ABOUT THIS SUMMER AND THE FALL LEADING UP TO ELECTION TIME, WE
ALREADY SEE THE RISING OIL AND FUEL COSTS AND THE SLOW INCREASE IN
GROCERIES, NEWS ARTICLES OF AIRLINES INCREASING FEES AND TRUCKERS
BEGGINING FEELING THE PINCH~ AT SOME POINT I FEEL THESE GRADUAL
INCREASES ARE GOING TO PICK UP MOMENTUM AND BEGIN RISING WITH A
NOTICEABLE VIGOR THAT WILL TEST THE VERY ENDURANCE OF THE AMERICAN
CONSUMER~ OUTRAGEOUS GAS PRICES TO CARRY US TO THE STORE TO PURCHASE
WAY OVERPRICED GROCERIES (IF THE TRUCKS ARE RUNNING AND THE SHELVES
AREN'T EMPTY).......SKY ROCKETING HOME ENERGY BILLS (LIMITED OR NO
AC THIS SUMMER)...........EXPENSIVE UTILITIES, EXPENSIVE CLOTHES,
EXPENSIVE MEDICINE.....WHERE DOES IT END? AND WHAT HAVE I LEFT OUT?
IN ALITTLE OVER TWO WEEKS THE UNITED STATES EAST COAST AND THE GULF
COAST WILL ENTER HURRICANE SEASON 2008~ IF WE TAKE A STORM, HISTORY
HAS SHOWN THAT THE "CANDY COATING" STOPS.....YOU CAN LOSE YOUR LIFE
OVER A BAG OF ICE OR BE RAPED OR MURDERED IN A DESIGNATED SHELTER
(NEW ORLEANS SUPER DOME)......LOOTERS....PRICE GOUGERS.....AND
BUMBLING DISORGANIZED FEDERAL AGENCIES........GOD HELP US IF WE HAVE
TO FIGHT OVER $4.00+ GAS TO KEEP OUR GENERATORS RUNNING......
IMAGINE WHAT GAS PRICES WILL DO IF A STORM ENTERS THE GULF OF MEXICO
AND STARTS WRECKING OIL PLATFORMS! WHAT THEN, $20.00 PER GALLON GAS?
WHAT WILL HAPPEN THIS SUMMER I CAN ONLY SPECUALTE, TRY TO PIECE
TOGETHER, TRY TO LOOK FOR WRITING ON THE WALLS.......WHAT I KNOW FOR
SURE IS THAT WE ARE ALREADY SEEING THE STORM ON THE HORIZON OF
RISING FUEL AND FUEL DELIVERED GOODS, WE KNOW THAT GAS WILL BE HIGH,
WE KNOW FOOD IS INCREASING IN PRICE.............IF YOUR NOT MAKING
PLANS NOW, TIME IS RUNNING OUT......WE'RE NOT LOOKING AT MONTHS
AHEAD WE'RE LOOKING AT DAYS AND YOUR PREPS BETTER START AFTER
READING THIS IS YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY!

Your friend may not be paranoid at all, just attuned to problems in our society that are not being addressed properly by our criminal govt. He may be too negative in his estimation of potential events in the near future. But he has made a good point about what happened in new orleans when folks couldn't get out and the govt blocked off the bridges and kept people there at gunpoint, and allowed brownwater security to harass, handcuff and assault citizens in the wealthier suburban areas and confiscate all their guns (some had family heirlooms and antique gun collections stolen and never returned). It was so bad that louisiana finally passed an aniti-confiscation law to prevent this. This clearly illegal and unconstitutional city wide harassment was done by govt sanctioned private armed thugs there to exercise a fascist agenda that had nothing to do with helping people. It was even reported early on that they shot and killed some NO policement and army engineers on the main bridge in some kind of disagreement. The govt could have airlifted water, food, bedding and medical supples within 6-8 hours but instead as a big experiment they let the citiozens rot for 8 days with no help claiming incompetency. Yah, right. If you are expecting your govt as it is not constituted to help rescue your city in a naturalo disaster, you better not expect much other than to be attacked, harassed by these folks who will probably go door to door looking for guns to confiscate. The govt doesn't want you to protect yourself. Every time a country outlaws guns, genocide occurs within a period of a decade or two at the latest. Why do you think the nazis confiscated the guns in Germany in the 1930's? Do you think the Jews, Christians, Gypsies, political dissidents and other undesirables would have been sent to the camps without a big fight if they had not been disarmed? Well all the same laws are being brought hdere to the usa nearly word for word. Coincidence, I don't think so. |

Heh, they can have my gun when they pry it out of my cold dead hand. Dissarming a people is the same as killing them slowly. No way in hell anybody I know, would willingly hand over their guns but I'm from a hick town. We still have shot gun racks in the back windows of our pickups. Registered firearms...what registered firearms? 1/2 the guns in this town are so old they were NEVER registered. Thank God for that! 22 shells are still cheap and plenty. If I have no $$ to buy food, your damn skippy I'll be shooting it before I go hungry. You come to take my stuff or my guns, I'll be shooting at you too. Maybe I'll save my shells and just send the dogs on ya. LOL |

I saw a sign at BP today for regular gas at $4.05/gal. Later in the evening my father came to visit and told me he heard on the radio that by tomorrow it's expected to go even higher. I always try to remain positive and think a bad situation at some point has to take a turn for the better but when you keep hearing it's gonna get worse before it gets better it kinda leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
Unfortunately all the bitchin and moaning we do isn't making a bit of difference to our government. We're falling on deaf ears. |

History teaches one thing. When folks are starving to death and the govt doesn't turn in its tracks and take strong corrective actions, folks will riot and go after the govt and those in power. This happened in 1776 and 1906 and would've happened again except FDR took immediate action to get folks working again. I have one acquaintance that fears that the govt will either institute or allow another or more 9-11 type attack(s) if they start losing control. The govt have built up the big anti-drug and anti-terrorist machinery which includes the militarization of the police and taking central command over the national guard, and how else would they have been allowed to do this except by instituting these problems in the first place. He thinks that there may not be a prezidential election this Nov. and instead another new war against Iran which could easly take the price of gas to 12-15 or even$20 a gallon. This is one of the worst case scenarios possible and I hope this doesn't come to pass. But you can bet we are all probably going to be in for a rough time the next few years. |

Preston- I don't think that's paranoid at all, either. I agree that our government will allow either natural disasters to escalate out of hand, or allow further 'attacks', as instruments to keep the populace in line, should the people begin to act on regaining control of our economy. Sad, isn't it, that the whole country can be brought to the verge of collapse while most folks are busy watching American Idol. jh |

I had to purchase a second car - first time I ever considered how many miles per gallon it could get. I have a 2004 Merc Moutaineer which I love and is great for the dogs, but I drive 210 miles round trip to work 3x per week. The gas was killing me, so now I have a Ford Fusion which is averaging 28.7 mpg. (Disappointed I could not buy the mustang 8 cyl). The truck is now used for taking the dogs to training or competing only. My company relocated in Feb 2007. I used to be a 15 minute drive away and now it takes about 2 1/2 hours each way. If the prices go up much higher, I will have to consider leaving my company of 19 years as this additional cost plus the long commute will not be worth it.
So far the rising cost of gas has not changed my training or competing time. I will try to cut back in other areas, as for me training and working my dogs is the one thing that I do for myself and will not give it up. |

| OPEC: Blame Oil Prices On Speculators And A Weak US Dollar |
|
Published on Thursday, May 22, 2008.
OPEC chief Abdala El Badri on Thursday said members were unhappy with surging prices he blamed on speculators and a weak US dollar.
"Volatility has nothing to do with the fundamentals. It has nothing to do with world demand," he said, stressing that a dropping dollar was driving prices higher.
"The price was at 130 dollars and today is at 135, so it's really a crazy market," he said. El-Badri, OPEC's secretary general, is on a week-long working visit to the two OPEC member states in Latin America, Venezuela and Ecuador. ...
4Pack...I agree with you in principle. The reality is, are you ready to kill to protect yourself & defend your 2nd amendment rights? Once government goons come en masse, doing house to house searches, youre outnumbered & fighting a losing battle. You will lose.
Heres video from the NRA, of Blackwater Goons punching an 82 yr old Grandma in the face to strip her of her only protection during Katrina, her 38 special handgun. This is what it will look like. And in the past, for having insulted you & generally being difficult, I apologize. I like your monitor, by the way..

"The reality is, are you ready to kill to protect yourself & defend your 2nd amendment rights? Once government goons come en masse, doing house to house searches, youre outnumbered & fighting a losing battle. You will lose."
Funny you say that, because I think of it like this. There are too many honest Americans who support and defend the US Constitution in it's entirety wether buy oath or by honest tradition. It is clear, who the "criminals" are relating to your question. If you don't think there are Americans that will die for Freedom and Liberty as intended in that "goddamn piece of paper" ... you are sadly mistaken. And for the ones who do stand true to the Constitution defending the last amendment before Liberty's demise and die... well, they are the true Hero's in the Fathers eyes. Once it hits home, blood is thicker than water. I personally don't think the real "criminals" have a chance once the ball starts rolling. Our Government enities didn't make America Home of the Brave, "we the people" do. "we the people" are the last defenders of this Republic for which it stands, the 2nd amendment will not lose.
Then of course this pandemic they plan to use will kill us easy and quick... either way we die ... they don't and will NEVER stand for what this flag represents in the hearts of who they killed. That's how I look at it. I wonder what the new flag will look like. **PUKE**

I don't usually participate in political debate on a dog board. However, anyone here who doesn't understand what a horrible role George Bush's incompetent 2 terms in office have done to this country just isn't getting it.

I'm not fooling myself, unless my neighbors deffend themselves and help me, themselves and protect their own rights, I probably would loose. But like I said, it's die now or die slowly later. I'd rather go out with my rights than standing in some bread line watching my kid starve and everything around me crumble. They will have to take my freedoms, I wont hand it over willingly. So yes I am willing to kill. I always have been. |

Some of the responses are surprising & give me a little optimism.
Ben Franklin said .." We must hang together, or we will hang separately"
Here is a video on martial law-US Marines did urban exercises in downtown Toledo & Colorado earlier this month.
Here is also an item list from a Bosnian Serb survivor of the 100 items wish list, in a time of civil war & unrest.
Please save these & favorite them. You might need them both in a few years, if not sooner. I Hope to GOD Im wrong.

What will we do?
What will we do. You don't have very many choice's here, I see rants and comments going off in every direction. I see part of the problem, some of us live in a bubble and dont have a clue. Others are extreme and make no sense.
We have an option right now, elections are coming. Start by writing letters and expressing your concerns to your representatives and elected officials. Then explain to them that they have had their chance and you are voting them out of office in favor of new face's. Write to the politition of your choice and explain to them what you expect in return for your vote. Forget the party lines and loyalties of the past, they have not served you and its time to break away from the flock.
If there was ever a time to get involved its now, raise your voice and be heard. Write that letter, send that e-mail, talk to your friends and nieghbors about it. Sadly none of them will agree with you but try anyway. Don't forget the power you have in the dollars you spend. Boycott those who harm us, and let them know what and why your doing it. Any shift in our spending habits sends shivers up the backs of those who profit from our labors. We the people make it happen, we generate the money, we feed the machine. Its a way to take back control of our country without violence. We'd lose that battle and anyone who doesn't know that is a fool. Its time we put aside our difference's and prejudice's and unite as Americans with the single goal of changing our system. No more lobbiest's, no more special interest's, no more pork barrel, no more waste. Enforce the laws against monopolies, and price gouging, price fixing and fraud. Start at the top with these big companies who have sold us out and put people in prison, tax their ass's and take back whats been taken from us in the past.
Sorry, I'm starting to rant now. Just do something and stop whinning, I will.

2 Moons... I agree in large part. People must turn OFF their TVS & get involved. Write & Discuss.
Vote out all incumbents. End the war, Close the border. Balance the budget. Keep US jobs here. Offer incentives for doing so. Oil alternatives. End Lobbies, Term limits for Congress critters. Enforce the laws but protect the innocent. No Patriot Act. No Police State.
...my gut is this. Nothing will change via the ballot box, its too late.
If you dont think we cant win, youre wrong. You dont have to "Win", You need only to Survive. Occupation is a bitch.
The IRA defeated the Brits with only 4000 members & maybe 8000 associates. Granted, they fought them for 800 years, but they did shame them back to Londonistan with their tails between their legs & killed 9xs the number of Occupying troops.
I dont encourage any violence but Im a realist as to where we are. I think its almost inevitable at this point in the near future, next few years if not sooner. Pains me to even write about it. |

Great things have been accomplished by men who chose not to use force. Just remember everything has a price and sometimes the price is a lot. Even some of those great men payed the price, they payed with their lives. Lest we forget.
Just don't be guilty of doing nothing. |

Two Moons, I realize this is hard for you to swaller, but our government Congress included, the White House to the State Houses, Executive, Legislative and Judicial has not done the one task that is asked of them. "to protect, defend and preserve the United States Constitution and this republic. This has been an ongoing hijack for decades. Only now, their Govern-Mental progress cannot be ignored. They are now at the final stages for the NWO.
The "enity" American government can no longer make a plausible argument and ignore the people. Ron Paul initiated this expose and full corruption in less than one year to all who would listen. Need proof our government isn't paying attention ??? Google Ron Paul.
J. Edgar Hoover, ex-FBI director on the New World Order conspiracy: "The individual is handicapped by coming face-to-face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists."
George H.W. Bush's comment: "if the American people knew what we have done, they would string us up from the lamp posts."

The extreme you speak about is higher education and the United States Constitution at it's finest .. the extreme you see here is only a minor example of what's really on the counter. Or maybe in the Tea Pot. Or is it the Cookie Jar. I forget.

OK I have had a glass of wine and have to admit you guys are scaring the crap out of me!! My husband has been talking about this $hit for years, and personally I can "feel" the change already. The gas prices, not to mention everything else, has got people on edge. I am just glad I live in the country, I think we stand half a chance, versus city dwellers. So WTF is the answer?? Who do we vote for? I suggest Ron Paul but how can that happen?? A long time ago I decided to go hunting, to see if I could kill a deer. I knew if I could (and I did) do that, I can kill some SOB frickin' with me or mine....BTW I can put a round in a half dollar size target at 100 yds. with an open sight 30-30 .... |

Dearest Ugly
You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much?
Boy am I confused. I have been hammered with the propaganda
that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting
us.
I now find that to be RIDICULOUS.
I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over
again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick
of reading them. I have included the URL's for verification of all the
following facts.
