OK...maybe it's just me! I'm venting here....I have verbally promised one of my pups to a lady; I have changed my schedule several times to facilitate delivery of this pup, which affected not just me, but also my co-workers, gave up my Mother's Day to acheive this delivery; and every single time, she's bailed on me at the last minute. She e-mailed me, saying she's very excited to get this pup, just give me your address, I'll come get her...well frankly, at this point, I don't want her coming to my house! All my red flags are up.....I gave her another option to get the pup, she's not answering me...at what point can I consider this deal OFF??? No money has changed hands, no contracts signed; & I have given her a 'respond by tomorrow or no deal' e-mail....is that good enough? My point is, if this gal is too flaky to even arrainge a delivery---how is she going to care for this pup? Comments appreciated..........jackie harris

Hi,

If you feel strongly (and you seem to), just say, "DEAL'S OFF - TIME'S UP", and go on about your life.

I've had to do it many, many times with clients - it's just part of life I guess.

Pay attention to your gut.  This will save you time, heartache, and money.  Quit now.  Don't give her an option if you don't want to.  Sell the pup to someone who is easier to get along with.

If she can't make time to meet you for a delivery she does not have time for a GSD. Recommend a nice cactus.

No way, she has already made herself look like a poor choice, to own a dog. After screwing with your days like that, I would tell her to kick rocks before it gets more complicated with money changing hands or a contract signing, and God NO don't let her know where you live. What a nightmare that could turn out to be, if you tell her no deal and she tried getting back at you. Email a no deal letter and be done with her. I hate people with disreaguard of your time.

I agree with all the above posts.

I also think there may be a very good reason why this indidual doesn't want you to deliver the pup yourself.

Definitely go with your instincts.

Sorrry , girl, no more bending over..mmmm   Stand firm, tell her deals off...and here is why....

A woman who cant make up her mind when and how to follow thru with an arrangement , will never follow the rules of raising a german shepherd correctly.

Our breed needs people with firm foundations and a head on their shoulder, not a burr in their foot.  ( nice way of putting it)

Hi

I think you have given the woman too many chances, find the puppy another home, you cant afford to mess about with these people,I made the mistake of selling a puppy to someone who convinced me they would love and cherish one of my puppies,1year later i bought it back as i heard it was being badly treated,it broke my heart when i got her home, that was 2  years ago,Now she is in the show ring and doing well, she is my mate and i love her to bits,as i do all my GSDs. So if you are not convinced  the puppy will be happy say NO.

Ditto to what everyone else said.  I've learned that if they are hard to deal with in the beginning, it doesn't get any better.

Hummm, this does sound fishy to me too. A few years ago I was a member of just one forum, my very first forum ever. I posted picture of everything and anything on that forum, dogs horses cats plants wildlife etc. Anyhow, a friend of mine wanted me to post pictures of their dog they had for sale on the internet and I did in this forums classified section ... noone really liked me on that forum to begin with, and I knew this. This one lady called and called wanting to buy this dog (Border Collie) I asked her what type living she has and all the 100 questions for a serious herding dog and a perfect match. She was clearly NOT who this dog would have been happy with. No farm, No cattle, and living in a Cottage. She for some reason couldn't understand the dog needed real farm work, regardless of who had the cash. I didn't have the dog, the owner did down the road, but she demanded for me to give my addy for her to come look at the dog maybe he'd really really like her. This kinda had me wondering, but the bottom line.. I knew she wasn't taking the dog and I told this to the owner. The owner trusted me to make the best decision for the dog, that is exactly what was gonna happen. Anyhooo, this lady kept calling and calling, I decided not to answer her calls or return her messeges. Well, wouldn't ya know she mentioned something on a recorded messege that cought my attention and only that forum did I ever post that info about my self. Soo, I called her back to set up an appointment for her to come to my farm, and I called the owner to bring the dog, yet knowing the dog doesn't leave with this lady. The deal was on.

The lady showed up 2 hours early.. I expected that.. but she brought a camara and 4 other people who also had camaras. The dog had worked my cattle for about 1 hour so far...so he wasn't fit to just stand and be petted when they showed up ... the dog wanted to keep working. These people did nothing for the 2 hours they were there but take pictures and video's of my property and the dog working the cattle... later they mentioned if the dog works horses ... so we sent the cattle to the north lot and unloaded all the horses from south barn and the free range in the south lot where the people were. Again they did nothing but take pictures and video of the dog. They left not even ever touching the dog, and said the dog was crazy and not worth the 100.00. Ya right. They later cut that Border Collie up on that forum, never showing a video or picture.

Later, I decided to join a bunch of different forums and wouldn't ya know ... one of those people posted his pictures and working video's saying that he was their Border Collie and how good he is and all the BS. That lady had NO interest in the 100.00 dog ... she just wanted to show up and take pictures and video for her own reasons.

Sooo, to be honest, if I was you.. I'd forget about that looser. Because that's exactly what these people are ... loosers.

Ok- I sent the 'no deal' e-mail last night...now my little girl will go to the lady who bred my Kalie; and a better home she couldn't even hope for; lots of room to run, love, and other GSDs to frolic with. Thanks for the feed back; you validated what I was thinking to myself. So that's it! jackie harris
