Hi I need some advice .My bitch is 39 days in whelp.I check her teats everday and today one of her back teats is lumpy .Could it be mastitis at this early stage .I am taking her to the vet tomorrow but just wondered if any of you have experienced this.

Im pretty sure mastitis can affect any teat that is producing milk. Including pseudo pregnancies.
I am no vet though, this is just what I have heard.

Depending on the type of mastitis, it is usually easily treated with some kind of antibiotic and calcium tablets.
But like I said, do not take my word for it.

She isnt producing milk yet .I know it can be treated with antibiotics but has any one experienced this .thanks evadic22 for replying.
