Hi everyone my bitch has never really had a problem with ticks or fleas! She does have minor allergies though. I live in a country that has a hot climate! As you all know fleas are active during the summers! Today while i was brushing my bitch, I found something suspicious in her coat! There was something black and crusty stuck in the fur of her hing legs. It was very tough to pull out! Its was like dried goo and when i pulled it out a few hairs came with it! Could this be fleas?? She is a semi indoor dog and she only goes outside on the terrace to sleep! She sleeps on a matress that is inside her kennel. How can i elimante fleas! I do have her frontlined every month! How frequently does her bedding have to be washed?
Thankyou. |

Doesn't sound like fleas to me. Flea excretement looks like pepper and if you add water to it it will turn blood red. I'd wash her bedding as often as practical. Can't hurt. The Frontline should keep the fleas away. |

If it was gooey maybe she just got something stuck in her fur from outside? If you have children could also be something they were eating that got stuck in her fur. Doesn't sound like flea stuff to me either. |

Doesn't sound like flea dirt to me either. Like Blitzen said, looks like flecks of pepper and if wet, will turn red. |
