currently i'm using two balls one time and then tug for motivational /drive building training.

should i just stick with only one toy like tug or only two balls.

what would be the best in general.

i used to play with her rope tug and last time when i first took her to club and they tested and she didn't respond much with the jute tug which is of course different than those rope tug. so now i already got tug for her and playing with it mostly and she is showing signs of  tugging a lot than before. she even follows me for the tug.

i even tied to one end of the tug and let her chase for it. i'm also thinking to do protection with her later.

in these circumstances, should i stick with tug than balls.

Kool:  Both games are important, how old is your dog?  If this is a pup and teething be mindful of mouthpain when playing tug.

Petoasis: With your 12 month old female,  why are you releasing the tug to her?

my pup is 11months just turned in now.

if both are equally important then i'll keep on rotating or i'll play one time tug for few mins then balls another few mins. just to bring her motivation towards playing rather training too much. am i right?

i heard some people told me not to let the tug dead either tied on the leash and and keep on holding the end so if its dead she neglects then move right away. this is what i'm doing now and its working better than before.

but would like to hear more feedback would be great.

When I am just playing fetch with my dog to burn up some energy I use two balls, as the dog is returning to me with one I pull the other from behind my back & start spinning it over my head.  This gets him even more excited and it also gets him to out the first ball naturally with no pressure from me.

For focus work with a young dog I like the jute roll as well as the tug.  Both are great for bringing up drives in an instant and playing tug is a great reward.  I also put the tug on a leash pretty much as you describe.  Soon you will find that when your dog gets a peek at the reward his drive will zoom up!

basically, these days i'm playing with three things every training sessions like in the morning/evening.

balls for energy burn up and tug with rope to chase it and i've another one jute tug with one handle i let her tug with me.

that' s what i've been doing recently. would this be fine then........ ....would there be anything i missed...or should I progress.....

when you usually provide the treat .....i provide only in obedient  inbetween the play session, would that work....
