I am still a bit confused about the SV's  KKL1 rating with respect to West German type showline vs. working line.

Is it true that if a dog has KKL1 rating, it must also be of the showline? Since conformation is a major part of KKL1 rating, wouldn't a dog that has the KKL1 rating per se be also of showline?

I read that a dog that is KKL1 would likely be rated V or SG. Again, do the rating V and SG apply only to showline?

A dog that is of working line does not have a pedigree of excellent conformation. Is this the definition?

Are there different criteria for KKL1 rating for working line?

Here are the regulations.  http://germanshepherddog.com/regulations/breed_survey_regulations.htm

They apply to both, there is not seperate criteria.  There are many KKL1 working line dogs.

I had a V-rated, Kkl1, Sch3  working line bitch.   Of course working lines can be V-rated and Kkl1.

But is it true that showline must also have a title to be rated V or SG by SV?

Any dog, workingline or showline can receive an SG-rating which is the highest one in the Youth or Young Dog classes. V-ratings are given to dogs over two years of age with a working title (SchH1 or better, or HGH). Dogs in Working classes which are not suitable for V-ratings would receive an SG. Here are the guidelines for holding a show, which ratings are given etc.: http://germanshepherddog.com/regulations/guidelines_for_hosting_a_conformation_show.htm
