Hi all,

Was just goofing around with the camera a little bit today, trying to get a new stack photo to post.  Considering, I was working by myself, I don't think these are too terrible.  I know that the stack itself needs work too.  LOL

Thanks,

Kathy

I'm not any good at stacking so won't even try to give advice on the stack.   Everybody tells me it's a three person job to get good stack pictures, one day maybe I'll have enough people to get some.

I just want to say you have nice dogs.

In some competitions, if you stack him/her with the front feet the way they are in photos 2 and 3 (a little ahead of the vertical) you can be faulted for it. (Happened to a friend of mine who was showing her Lab in an AKC show.) It's called bridging, and is considered a handler error. Can' tell you if the same goes for other show venues.

Otherwise, great pictures!  I know I could never get a decent pic of my girl without someone to hold her, or the camera.

For a nice photo, don't stack her downhill next time, makes her topline look flatter.

[Grits teeth....]  Nope, not going to say it, not going to say it....

AAARRGHHH!!

Can't help myself!!

And what, may I as is wrong with a flat topline?

From the BREED STANDARD: The back, including the loins, is straight

That means straight, like a ruler. Not C-shaped. Not roached, banana back, or whatever you want to call it.

I didn't say anything was wrong with it, but why would you want to present your dog on an angle and throw the eye off of what your dog actually looks like?

And flat and straight are NOT the same thing. A strong, straight back and a high wither are certainly not contradictory!

I certainly agree with you there!

Actually top photo is just crooked.  :)  I was trying to wait for her to look forward and I was squatting down and literally fell back onto my butt taking the shot!  So that one might night be ideal!

Kathy:

I like the first shot.  She looks good!  I take crooked shots like that all the time.  At least it is not blurry!

Much bnetter, but front legs still bridged, that is they still slope a little slope backwards from the hock upward.  It takes a lot of work and usuaklly three opeople to get a proper stacked photo, but you are getting close.  Isn't it amazing how good your dogs looks with an improved pose?

Nice looking dog rezkat, great job for a "one person stack". I love the picture that also includes a head shot in it.

What kind of program (or software) are you using for "Photoshop" that allows you to insert the head shot?

Hi Ninja,

Thanks!

Just the normal photoshop using layers.  The bottom layer was just a shot of a field, then I layered the other two in there.  The head shot I just "erased" the body out.

Rezkat5,

Thanks, I think I'm about to purchase a new "toy". LOL

Good luck with your dogs!
