Hello all.
I've only just signed up here, though I've lurked for a long while. I just wanted to ask if anyone knows how hard it would be to get a kennel job (anything from learning Sch handling to dealing with English-speaking folks to helping with translations to poop-scooping) here in Germany. I'm an American woman living near Ulm, and my German's not the best; I'd love nothing more than to work with dogs for the rest of my life, but have no idea how people usually get started in this.
I'd assume that, like most things, you need money to begin, but I'm looking for a job, not to open a kennel, which is where my problem starts
It seems that most of the kennels I see, and the few I've spoken to, are very much family-run (with no outside staff bar perhaps a trainer). So I guess my question is, is there a way to get work (of any kind, and with any breed, though GSDs are my favorites, with other German working breeds close seconds) in a German kennel as an American, and if so how would one go about it?
Thanks very much for any help, comments and advice anyone can give me.
