I have the opportunity to purchase a male German Shepherd for $4000. He just turned 4, he has his IPO1, and is also trained for executive protection. Hips, elbows and Dm clear. I've seen pictures of several of his pups from different litters and they look great. I know it's not a lot of info but does this seem like a reasonable price?  He is a Czech import.

not bad

Can you share the pedigree

Looks very fishy. Dog 4 year old ,title, good hips elbows, proven stud. Too good to be true. Watch yourself before send any money. Pedigree here is irrelevant ,this looks like a scam.

There are several advertised here that are in the US already for that price.

Yes could be a scam, and that could be no matter the price or location.

Get fertility test if you are planning to breed, and health tests including Heartworm no matter where you buy it from. Have that information from, the vet office and include the Microchip number of the dog.  Call the vet office as well.

Yes pedigree is vaulable information if you plan to breed and the person or kennel who is selling to try and help rule out a possible scam.

If you don't want to post the name of the person you are buying from you can PM me and I will see if we have had any complaints.  You should also check here for the name and google it as well.

Sounds too good to be true. Research name and kennel and location, etc. etc. Good luck Nan

I always say you need to get to know the owners or the dog(s)...If you're interested in buying one from someone you don't know...Contact people that they have sold dogs to...Do your homework...

Then...

Go with your gut...If you ever feel like it's not right for you or you have any reservations...DON'T DO IT...!

$ 4000 is a fair price for an imported IPO 1 dog. Never forget, IPO 1 is just the beginning of the road. Someone stopped the journey out of a reason ( lack of conformation, lack of working ability, dental faults, whatever - maybe the owner just needed money ...)

Show rating, breed survey, any pups in Czech?
I guess not. Do you know?

I'm pretty sure it isn't a scam but I'm not sending money until I meet him and check all paperwork. Seller is not asking me for money until pick up.

I guess I missed some questions, selling because owner is a trainer having trouble keeping up with his clients. I don't know about show rating or breed survey, he came to the USA as a puppy so his litters are all here. He will be my personal dog that I would like to continue working for his IPO 2 &3.
