I can assure you he hutch side produced fair share of nerve issues as well but some czech lines rent free of that also

Thinking  What you been smokin' dude? That makes no sense at all!

He's talking about Max and I believe he is correct. I mean, maybe some of the females he was bred to, but maybe from Max. I can't defend the Tiekerhook lines any more than Duke can defend all of the czech lines, the individual dogs are all we can go on. Don't get me wrong, the czech breeder I selected produces some amazing dogs, and mine was fabulous in many respects, even if 20 to 25 percent of what I produced with her would be undesirable to breed with.

when you breed high in agression/sharpness etc there will allways be some dogs that fall over the edge, no shame in that, Koos is breeding extremes so that can happen

I trained did helper work and even had several dogs with Identical pedigrees, think even worked a littermate from hutch at my club, but told all that to Daryll some time ago

also for some reason I liked the brother of max, Manus  more  but he  didnot have so much progeny

Manus literally had a bazillion puppies, even a litter with his own daughter.

I have a manus daughter super strong nerves and drive to match put real hardness into to her pups

by vk4gsd on 28 May 2017 - 20:05

I nearly got a manus pup. Nice dog, seemed to be bred indiscriminately tho.

I would say in breeding, prey drive is the easiest characteristic to consistently retain in the offspring. Followed by defense drive and sharpness. What is a bit more difficult to consistently reproduce, is a biddable temperament and a clear head. Grant it, an emphasis in training and bonding with your dog can help overcome a shortage in those aspects. Having good homes/handlers for for dogs that need such emphasis is indispensable. Breeding dogs of this kind is not for the typical pet market.

prey is easiest, but defence and sharpness arent that easy to bring back into dogs that lost it, I buy dogs from a breedingstation for policedogs in large numbers and they mostly produce high drive detection dogs and have a hard time producing dual purpose dogs, even with use of civil males on their high drive females

I personally see in my breeding that civil/sharpness is best reproduced from females that have that trait, even bred with more prey type males

I agree about the females, in fact, my current ones also have very "alpha" type behaviors. A bitchy batch that lift their hind legs when they pee and have absolutely no love one another. I only keep 2 males at a time, so that's less strenuous.
