It starts with tsa, then the same political correctness driving tsa policy, takes over other agencies....spreads like a disease...Don't forget, Dems are taking over this coming year, so pc is the rule, not efficiency of the job.

PS...Sure, tsa is only one agency using detector dogs, but the gsd has lost its job there, because of it's pointy ears!

Body shaming the gsd for pointy ears!!!!!

I have promised I will not comment on Joann's posts. But I'll make an exception. RIGHT ON JOAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with you 1000%

valk what is wrong with you? Less the GS dogs work the better?! You do not care why the GSD is suppressed? it is good for GSD if he is less popular??  Do you understand that GSD is the most recognized and the most popular breeds in the world because they are excellent workers? And now you are happy when they lose their working job because of pointy ears?!!!! SMH

if the pointy ears are scary then I suggest that TSA uses one of the breeds below which have floppy ears. What is your choice:)

Ovchakra would eat the budget too fast. 10 pounds of meat a day.

They could use cats instead of dogs, but they have pointy ears, so they'd scare the precious darlings.

I don't see nothing wrong here, those kind of jobs has been taken from the GSD for a long time now. Last time i was on a airport there were two cocker spaniels controlling the luggage.

It is scientifically proven that floppy ears have a friendlier appearance to people. Especially people who are afraid of dogs in general. Remember we used to crop ears from breeds like Doberman, Great Dane, Boxer and Pitt bulls to make them look more serious/aggressive. That is the other way around. And the GSD has a certain reputation as a LE or guard dog to people who simply have no knowledge about dogs.

allan, that is a dumbass statement to say those kind of jobs has been taken from GSD long time, as GSd is still the best and most wanted detector worldwide, multiple agencies prefer only GSD, some prefer only malinois, multiple buy all, and only TSA wants to switch to huntingbreeds only, like I said before, that is stupid, as the amount of desired dogs will not be met, and overall quality of their dogsquad will be lower than any other dogsquad, the best dog for the job, is the one that gets the job done, if we start to care about what criminals and children feel, and prefer, we are at beginning of the end.

Duke, the end is already well on the way...another police officer shot an killed in line of duty by illeagal in a sanctuary state.

Right is wrong ... Wrong is right.

And dogs are all the same, they just have different clothes and wear their ears differently.
