Valk, its easy to say for you what other people should do, you CANNOT pick breeding material based on pics (photoshopped) and vids of dogs after two years of training, its hard enough to find decent male for breeding without looking at depth of chest, colour and skull/muzzle size

would be interested to see your top 5 or 10 of to go to studdogs

duke 1985 to Valk:   would be interested to see your top 5 or 10 of to go to studdogs

Duke1965 - I am interested in YOUR picks for top 5 or 10 stud dogs in Europe.    Since you are at the epicentre of all things 'working dogs' and you get to test many dogs, which are YOUR pics for right now, and if you can say why then even better, thanks.

koots, if you read back i wrote my males of choice, but Valk says its easy to breed quality and looks, and says we have many options here, so i would like to hear them

Duke - must be on some other thread, as I can't see you mention any males on this one, unless I'm suddenly blind, lol.

Thanks Rik, I found the mention and made note. :)

thanks Rik, further complication is that its not just about the male, the male must be the right fit for the female that will be bred, so sometimes, even when I like a certain male the most, he can be the wrong choice for the female to breed, like i said before, each combination stand on itself,

duke, are you asking me to assist you in finding stud dog for your breeding or what?

by ValK on 02 September 2021 - 19:09

returning to topic, here some pictures taken back in 70s and 80s  at borders in different countries.

what is common - all those countries was belong to Warsaw pact and dogs in pictures a typical type was bred for border's patrol dogs.

you may note how those particular dogs differ even from their regular DDR ancestors on foundation of which they were developed by using  and firmly holding to a certain system of selection in breeding.

Valk, really, no i can find my own dogs, but since you say its easy to breed for quality and looks, you might give me some examples of those suitable dogs, the dogs on your pics may look good, but we dont know anything on their character/quality
