Yep Blitzen I agree. There was quite a few dogs there also. I wasn't there for every show--only the Sat. ones--but I know what the entry fee said and I know what the catalog said. When we got there they were halfway through the first show for that day and we stayed for all of the second one. Our plans were to only make the second one as we had some errands to run up there. Oh and I was surprised myself--I didn't know if that was the "norm" or what. Other than the Nationals that's the only specialty show I have ever been to.

Vonissk, yes that is how it used to be here. 3/4 all breed shows and 1/2 specialties for a total of 5 shows the GSD could compete in, and they were held in one weekend, or t/f/s/s.

Oh OK maybe I misunderstood you. If I did my apology.
I think now the bigger cluster shows still have them for 5 days but I think they only have one specialty per breed now and then 2 AB on Sat and Sun. Like Dallas and Ok City which are the areas I am familiar with.
The specialty I was referring to was held at a hotel and for 3 days before the GSD show they had the Cresteds Specialty. And as I said I am not familiar with specialities, since I was mainly into OB back in the day I only did matches and all breed shows.

Sometimes clubs hold in-conjunction shows with other breed independent specialty shows. They share the costs of the site, the ring equipment, and may even use the same judges and ring stewarts. Whatever works in today's economy.
