| I love this chart! Thanks for posting! Both of my girls qualify, and if I'm please by the time they come of age, and find a suitable male, maybe we'll breed. If not we'll spay. But first thing is first with my girls and that's their happiness and health :) |

| They should add, "have you or are you willing to provide the time and resources necessary to help find forever homes for at least as many dogs who are currently in a shelter or rescue as you will be adding to the population?" If you breed dogs, you have a responsibility to help those who have been discarded as well. |

| The people who discarded the dogs are the guilty party....this "logic"could beapplied to humans as well, every one producing children are at fault for all the homeless soles. Mandating rescue removes the altruistic aspect....I have never been "forced" to rescue any of the dogs I,ve saved, but did it because I wanted to. |

| Keith, Using your logic, people purchasing purebred dogs instead of adopting from a shelter would bare some of the responsibility too. |

| If they're buying them from puppy mills, pet stores, BYB's, etc. they are absolutely part of the problem. Their money encourages these breeders to continue what they're doing. |

| Some so called rescues "accidentally" have litters of puppies conceived on their premises because there is a bigger demand for puppies. Some "rescues" even go to adds to fill the demand for puppies. Some people "rescue" for easy money, others to appear to be heroes, and some for the sake of the animal. The lack of owner retention of shelter dogs because some one picked up a puppy on a whim, and the novelty wore off, sends the same animal back to another shelter. So they get recycled. Go ahead, Keith, go for the jugular. Or do I have permission to post.LOL |

| Mine will bring me millions I am sure. I will breed survey anyway because it's not that far outside of just doing IPO and I don't see why not to do it. I have limited reg anyway. SO maybe not millions unless it is in the negative. :D |

| I don't understand the logic behind breeding well-stock dogs, being responsible about it, and at the same time being responsible for all the dogs in the shelter. I've volunteered at shelters, bottle fed thrown out pups and kittens, taken in what I could and adopted them out, but if I breed a couple litters a year and sell most on limited registration, how am I encouraging the problem? I think that yes you should be responsible for the pups you produce in the sense of if the family does not want the dog or has a problem or whatever that you should take the dog back, but I don't know how that's encouraging dogs in shelters. Should you rescue animals? Sure, it's a great thing to do. But it's the same with having kids. Should you adopt kids? It's a great thing to do. |

| Is the UKC a reputable kennel club? I have heard you could register a mut with the UKC......or maybe there is more than one UKC. Because i do have a registration issue that i was told I could register with UKC if i wanted too.....please clarfy. Thx in advance. |
