Lovely to see the pix, and to know that you've safely got him.  I was, like others obviously were , rather worried that you were going to have problems.  I guess with a singleton puppy its maybe less unusual to think they are ok if they go early;  but thanks to all the good folks on here, you will at least have a clearer idea next time you want to buy a dog.  Wishing you good luck.

Well, I've gotten two pups, at 6 weeks, and they turned out great!!!  I wouldn't worry in the least about it.  Better with you bonding than sitting by himself in a kennel.  Neither dogs I had at that age were the least bit dog aggressive.  The pup I got at 12 weeks is much more.  It is genetics that are the important factor IMHO.  I should also mention, the pups I got at a younger age were housetrained much faster, and were much cleaner  ie, pooped farther away from the house.
Congrats, he is adorable, and does look like he may be a long stock coat.  Love them myself

I'm also in Okinawa, does anyone have any information as to where the OP got the puppy from? I've been a huge fan of GSDs since I was young, and my wife finally said that we could get one. I just haven't been able to find any information about getting them here in Okinawa.

I already have, saw him posting on a few GSD sites/forums, but after he got his pup, it seems he has gone underground....
