Is this guy out of his mind? Or just greedy?   http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/classifieds/157393.html

I just saw this ad, and I don't care if the pup poops gold nuggets.......that's a ridiculous price.  No puppy is a "guarantee" of any sort.  What if that pup ended up with severe h/d later on, then would that be worth it? I just can't see how someone would sell an 8 week old pup at that high of a price when puppies are a crap shoot.

I like to try to see the good in people, so I'll say that he is very, very proud of this pup. She is awful cute, dirty feet & all! And maybe he does think he's hit the jackpot with this super special puppy....only time will tell. There are folks out there paying more for worse stuff. I hope she finds a home where SHE is valued for her adorable self, & that her people feel she is worth whatever they wind up paying for her.
For myself, no pup would be worth 12,500 euros....even if I had that kind of $$$ to blow.
Good luck, puppy! jackie harris

Lets say, for a moment, that this puppy is the magical reincarnation of Ursus v Batu, and this guy knows it. He/she is not going about promoting this little girl the right way, he didn't even stack her to SHOW what "potential" she may or may not possess. She has a pretty face, but from his/her picture, what more can we tell about this puppy? ...Not much.

I say if you're going to demand that kind of cash, at least take the time to get a GOOD picture that shows potential buyers what they MAY or may not be willing to invest in, ya know?

ROFLMAO ! out of his mind indeed ! as said above - where is the show pose? where also is the pedigree? If I had a puppy that good - I wouldn't be shy about bragging about her parents. and everybody should know that a dog can look awesome "on paper" and when you see it in person - it's more like a cross between a goat and a hyena.......I'm just saying I suppose, somewhere out there is a fool willing to spend $14,500US on something worth only 1/10th of that. When we were breeding, we did have people turn down our pups-- and when asked why -- they said They're the nicest pups we've seen in 4 litters - but they are too cheap - so we are suspicious -- I replied - you can pay me more if you wish -- but I'm more concerned about the homes they get than the money I get. At the time, we were charging about 25% less than our breeder friends with "show" dogs -- as we had less flashy herding lines. To compare this "super star" puppy to my new puppy -- I'm getting a most lovely pink papered puppy out of VA9 Lennox and a super V daughter by VA2 Odin Holtkamper and it is costing my LESS THAN $1900US (so around 1400E) and that includes shipping AND the crate !!! Let the buyer beware !!

Out of his mind. And so is another breeder in the US, famous breeder I'm sure everyone knows who I'm talking about, wanting 10,000 for a pup. I'm sorry, but that pup better poop gold nuggets.

It happens. I suppose some guys know when they have a special one--then again other guys don't know when they're not buying a special one
It's easy to see $6,000.00 ones all over the world, people ask and people pay--what can I say

guddu who are you talking to?  If it's me....well....For a pessimist, I'm pretty optimistic....  Don't get me wrong, I like to see the "good" in people too as Jackie said......but that price is a little ridiculous. That much money, and like DDRCzechFan mentioned....no stack, no pedigree shown, etc.  None on this entire forum can deny that puppies are a crap shoot.   The dog might turn out to be crap......it may turn out to be an incredible dog who does well in everything it competes in....it may have severe hip problems...who knows....  Supertanker....lol   definitely a cute pup, but I would only buy it if it literally did crap gold.......logs......not nuggets. Nuggets would be too small....How much does gold sell per ounce these days?  And for anyone who may think I'm "bashing" this breeder......not at all. I don't even know who they are...But no one can deny that price is ridiculous.  A couple of grand...maybe...but that much....

I was rollin reading his ad, but just a few months back someone sold a protection dog for over 200k. I pretty sure a few Seals, Rangers ect might have taken that contract and they could bring guns to the project. Watch someone pay the 12.5, thats where the humor llie's.

She slice's, she dices, she makes Julian fries. :)

If someone does pay that much - hell - if they pay HALF that much then they need to re-watch Forrest Gump -- because "Stupid is as stupid does" "The ignorant can be taught -- stupid can't be fixed."

It's his right and his opinion to sell the pup for whatever he can get. Does anyone here give a shit if he sells it for $1.00 for $100,000.00
If you're not writing the check , just shut up!

Beardog.......I could say it's my right and opinion to voice my opinion.....and tell you you're not voicing my opinion so........      We have the right to voice our opinion, what does it matter to you? Are you good friends with this breeder or something?  Sure he can put the puppy at whatever price he wants......There are people who will be dumb enough to buy it.

Well, yes Beardog, we could give a sh*t if he seriously wants to sell an 8-week puppy for that much money, because although its up to any individual who wants to pay stupid-money for a dog, over time all this sort of thing does is drive prices up artificially;  at the same time making dogs mere 'commodities' in the eyes of some, instead of living breathing companion creatures.  I reckon most people on here think that those are bad things, don't you ?

I believe P.T. Barnum said it best.

Theres a sucker born every second.

Only a idiot would spend that kinda bread on a puppy by jusy it,s breeding has less then half a chance for a good genetic grip, less then acceptible working nerve, ect... I bet it will sell quickly and probably to someone in the USA.
