I have a GSD female who is 16 months. She stays with me in my apartment when I am at college, and comes home with me on the weekends. Could not ask for a better dog. However, when she was about 6-7 months, she started to sleep on the foot of the bed with me at night. Every week night she would sleep on the foot of my bed and on the weekend she would sleep on her bed at my boyfriend's house. This went on until I went into the hospital back in February. I was in the hospital for 3 days and 2 nights, with her sleeping in her crate at my house and my boyfriend and mother taking her out every few hours. After I got back home, she was excited to see me, but won't sleep in the bed with me anymore. I've tried to coax her on my bed, I've put her on my bed, and when she does stay it is for 15 minutes tops, and the whole time just seems nervous. Then she'll get down and get on her bed and sleep there. She won't even lay on the couch with me for a nap. Any ideas how to get my bed buddy back? I know most people have problems getting their dog OFF of their bed, but I've never heard of any dog not wanting to get on one. Any ideas will help.

Has it gotten warmer where you are?  She might just be hot.

yea, it's been quite warm. maybe that's it. but I try to keep it cool inside. she's a strange dog. I've never had one that didn't want to sleep in the bed.

You say she is nervous now when she is on the bed, is it possible that when you were in the hospital that she got on a bed or couch and got into trouble for it, and now is confused.

Western Rider, I was thinking that. I'm going to try to get her on the bed and give her treats or something to try to assure her that it's ok.
