although some parts of southern India and across to Sri lanka are a bit smaller than normal, however, in this case the guy knelt, at least,1m (one metre) away\farther from the stanced dog.

It doesn't look like a meter, 2 feet at most. Maybe the dog is just huge?

The dog and the handler are far enough apart for the dog to be out of of focus, while the handler is. I'd say far enough apart to also skew the size, although I'd wager the dog is quite tall, also.

The camera is close to the dog, this making him look much bigger than the guy behind him. Old photographer trick. Used to use it to make the game we hunted look a lot bigger than it really was. I don't think, in this case, it was intentional, but the closer the camera is to the subject, the proportionately smaller objects behind it look. The farther away the camera is from the subject, the more proportionate it looks with the background.

It's just the camera/positioning of the guy and dog.  I have pictures of my pack where one of the dogs (who was the smallest at the time) looked huge compared to the dog who was actually the biggest (but in the picture he looked tiny).

It's just a perspective trick.

This looks like a grown dog, but really, this dog was a little puppy and his wither didn't come past my knees when standing next to me.

This is done by hunters to make game look larger. I have a pic of my 10 y.o. grandson with a hog he killed, taken by a professional photographer. He had him kneel down, approx 2 feet behind the hog and took the pic on a slightly upward plane. The combination of small boy, placement and angle of pic make the hog look huge. Experienced hunters guess it at 300# + when in fact it was 150#.
