Due Diligence with hips and titles by Gusmanda on 22 January 2012 - 03:10 |
How easy is it to do due-diligence concerning titles and hips when buying abroad? I'm hearing horror stories on false titles and hip-grades. Does breed federations in Germany/Slovakia/Czech Republic have their files online? Can the average buyer research parents/grandparents of a puppy and find out the official titles/hip-grades?

Slovak kennel club has dog info on line. German dogs can be checked - and they also have the ZW ratings Czech dogs are a bit more difficult, but an email can be sent to their kennel club and ask. Google is excellent in checking these....just type in the dog's name and check breeding records or breed survey lists... But you have to become familiar with other languages..

Here is the link to Slovak database /SUCHNO database/ - http://www.suchno.sk/databaza.html ,you just write the name of the dog or part of it.

The problem is not where to find it,is that they send you the right one; Best is to get references or buy from someone here, you pay a bit more, but will get what you expected..good luck
