| Hello every one: I'm a new GSD breeder,I saw a 8 month old male,he hade a flesh-colored nose.But when he was 4 month old,his nose is black. Who can tell me why his nose became flesh-colored ???The food is too hot ?Or because other reasons?And how to improve?Thank you very much.I'm sorry for my bad English.   |

| It is what is called "Winter Nose". It happens to some dogs. Try giving him a kelp supplement... that usually helps. I use the Sea Meal from Solid Gold. http://www.solidgoldhealth.com/products/index.php?product=36&code=4450 |

| Hello this is not big problem ! it is problem with winter and cold weather , and one of problems is keeping dogs on dark places without sun so keep him on sun and give him some vitamines and all will be good ! best regards Milos |

| "Snow nose" Try using stainless steel dishes as well. Plastic will end up with tiny grooves that will hold bacteria even after washing, stainless is the way to go. |

| My female gets this. I assume she rubs her nose on her crate because when she was in the kennel with pups her nose went back to normal. The pups came in summer though so possibly my girl has snow nose too? |

My best friend a portuguese podengo colled Menta had a dark nose, But sometimes her nose became more clear, I never knew why it was. |
