my daughter let her friends brother in my house while I was with Boss (my GSD) in the back tv room.  I didn't hear him come in the door but Boss ran to the front door and did the hold and bark until I came..I told him good boy, it's okay, told him to sit and gave him a treat.  I told the kid that Boss is doing what he supposed to do because he doesn't know you - never met you and thinks you're an intruder.  Just very impressed with this dog, showed good protection instinct and control.
