Hello my name is Adrian , I live in Romania and I got my german sheperd 5 months ago from a friend that moved into another country and couldn't get the dog with him.
The point is that my dog has a pedigree tatoo number in his ear, but we don't have the certificate that proves that our dog actually has pedigree. We tried to search in the Romanian Pedigree Database but the employees said that the dog isn't registered in Romania but could be registered in Germany, so we wanted to ask for some help in our search.
The question is where could we find a database in which we could fill in the tatoo number and find the pedigree certificate?
Thank you , in advance, for your help!

Todorkim or Adrian, I can feel your heartbeat over this problem because i had a similar expirience. Now, check "database.gsdog.ru"(russian/german registered dogs) or Search "schaferhund"(everything gsd, including pedigrees) or extensively search the pedigreedatabase again. On the other hand, contact the first owner for the "actual registered name" of the puppy. Note: you must contact the first owner so also to get the puppy's parent names for easy search. i.e. you need the parents names to check their progeny where you may find your pup's name included. But if your dog came in from russia via a third party, then you're in for more troubles, because "falsification" is rife, especially if not directly bought from a reputabke breeder(don't mean to malign russia or her breeders). My regards

Thanks for your help Niger, I will try and find his pedigree on both of those sites, but it will be hard to find his parent's names because he was taken from a small box when he was small, he was more likeluy abandoned. Untill he turned 4 yrs old he was raised by a very good friend of mine but he never thought that my gsd actually has pedigree so he never searched who were his parents and so on.
Thank you for your help again!

Visit the site,(database.gsdog.ru), on the left you'll see English & Russian alphabets representing the "first names" or "starting names" of each dog, then "click" on the alphabet; the same for the Russian names. I'm not a Russian/neither can I speak or write Russian, but I've had personal experiences with dogs from russia. Regards.

Yes we did read it. The Number is, from our readings : 16160 and it was written with a blueish-green color

Sometimes a tattoo means nothing to anyone beyond the breeder who did it, no registry.
