Koach Agree Some of the best mals I have seen here are french line breeders what drive they have over the IPO mals Same with my pup it is not often you see bite and prey drive that exstreme In such a Young age In schh bred dogs you see it but its far between

Snusjunkie I know about the french,Belgium Both In gsd and mal dont Care about the females but the schh Lines are the ones I wrote and the ones you mentioned but that is the good old schh Lines not like those week dogs you see today with the modern breeding They lack prey,Hunt and fight drive today and hardness they have problems staying In drive for longer time and they are to soft today I have written with one of the old breeders In france and hé wrote mé that only a few of the german lines produce the drive it takes to dó campagne, mondio, french ring only the ones I and you mentioned that is not much and its only the good old Lines and they are getting more and more behind In pedigrees and more of the new type softer gsd is seen.but those old schh Lines have produced very good and are to some of the Lines used In KNPV titlen dogs

I see that in some Schh lines too, it isn't something exclusive from the French ring dogs, i'm not saying they don't have good dogs, they just don't produce them properly, and getting a good dog out of a litter is very difficult! Look at Haus Ming, Tiekerhook, Karthago, Salztalblick, Lupo Nero and many others! Do you think that their dogs lack prey,Hunt and fight drive??? Sure there should be more, and i agree that it's hard to find good breeders! My point is that you don't have to go to france to find a good GSD for ring sports! The day that french breeders start paying more attention to their females, they will be giving a good contribution to the breed, until then... I rather look elsewhere!

sport training is just that...training. I don't care what venue you choose to compete in.....with that said, the pedigrees look the same except for the titles:-) I also like females...the backbone of the breed!

Not just training, i've seen dogs doing great in rci and their owners tried ring sports and the dogs were just too weak for that...

How do you guys rate this pedigree of my female? According to drive and hardness? That is a terrible pedigree, I suggest you send that dog to me right away. I will give her a nice home. Seriously, that is an awesome pedigree. I am sure she is a fantastic dog. Jim

EisenFaust, i like what i see, i would have to make a research because i'm not familiar with all dogs, anyway i don't like to rate a dog just by a pedigree!

I've rarely see anything I would like to own in the schh lines give me an example of the lines you're using:-) I don't believe the sport has anything to do with the dogs genetics...either it's a good dog or it ain't....

judron wrote: "give me an example of the lines you're using:-) I don't believe the sport has anything to do with the dogs genetics...either it's a good dog or it ain't...." Excellent! well said. No matter what people say about schutzhund, it is almost always the sport that is behind the dogs they like. Schutzhund is simply a tool people can use to see what their dog brings to the table, it is a standardized test. If we like a dog, we can "track him down" through his scores/trials, and then from there we can talk to people that have seen him work, helpers that have caught him etc. But, the genetics have to be there to start with!

judron, i believe you were asking me what lines i am breeding? Well I am in partnership with a couple other people with Sequoyah GSD, here is their website. Check out the breeding females and we have a couple more coming. http://sequoyah-german-shepherds.com/

Remember a pedigree is just a snapshot of the past. It shows us what was. Now a pedigree does show you what the parents have accomplished so you hope that the traits, type and so on come through. I personally pay attention to the lines for what I want, then I make sure that the actuall parents have the traits, type and so on. So are KNPV lines better or are Sch lines better? My opinion is a strong working pedigree whether KNPV or Sch should not matter if you are breeding for quality. Yes some dogs are faster, some bigger, some slower but quality working drives are quality working lines. just my 2 cents,,,,,,

Nice pedigrees...EisenFaust....good luck...I own a Jimbeam vom Talka Marda son. I believe my comment was directed at myret:-) A few weeks ago, I worked a Ace of Nike son that was a very nice dog...2 yrs old...never did any bite work...people have no idea what a nice dog they have! I am working a Dasty son that is nice but will be nothing but trouble trialing....has a very hard time containing himself. Just starting 2 Angsbackens Rosso females....they look very promising. My Bandit vom Wolfsheim daughter is a pistol...hopefully a BH on her in May. Good luck folks with your dogs!

Thanks yellowrose, it has been awhile since we last spoke. hope all is well? My bad judron55, but gave me a chance to show off our females :) You are right about the fact that many people just dont know or understand what they have under the hood sorta speak. I tell ya I was always so into the males then I started getting females and I tell ya wow? When you find a good bitch it is awesome, also I have been following the idea of strong quality bitches are whats needed in todays breedings. Many breeders have untitled females bred to BSP this and BSP that but the female doesnt carry the traits or abilities themselves.
