help my dog possibly drank flea and tick spray? by gsds30281 on 28 November 2011 - 00:37 |
| I went out shopping for about an hour and left my dog outside, he got into a box of dog supplies that we keep in the garage and when I got home i found him chewing on the bottle of flea and tick spray. He made of few holes in the bottle and now its dripping. I am scared that he drank it. Can he get sick? |

| I would get him to an emergency vet to get activated charcoal treatment and whatever else the vet suggested. |

Or, call the emergency vet & ask questions. The emergency vet here is great about answering questions, advice, prior to taking a dog in. |

| I'm a vet tech, get to a vet immediately. If it hasn't been long, start giving him hydrogen peroxide, it'll make him puke up whatever isn't digested already. If they eat it, could lead to some adverse reactions. I hope everything works out! |

| I'm a vet tech as well, and I don't suggest vomitting w/o finding out the recommendations for that particular product. THERE SHOULD BE AN EMERGENCY NUMBER on the BOTTLE for the product. As well, you can call the ANIMAL POISON CONTROL @ (888) 426-4435. The vet sometimes recommends this as well, as obviously they cannot be ontop of every product/poison out there. Good luck! |
